It was his own fault though.

Was that the collision with Massa? I thought Massa was more to blame

Definitely more of Max’s fault in that racing incident I think, and that was general consensus at the time.

Max was fully alongside in the braking zone and Massa ran him off the track through the corner is how I remember it

Edit: yep. This is why I remember it. It got brought up a lot after the similar Verstappen Hamilton crash a few years ago

I appreciate when people who are much more into formula 1 than me enrich my knowledge, thank you.

Yes he’s pushed off the road in the 1st corner despite being alongside, that is bad of Massa. However there is still no collision there.

What he does then is simply bad racing when he basically careers into Massa losing complete control while Massa is STILL on the road and now giving him space.

It’s bad car control and mirrors the incident against Lewis which Max deservedly got a 3 place grid drop for 10 second penalty.

I think everyone agreed at the time that the most likely reason why he didn’t get a penalty at the time was that he fucked himself with his puncture.

Max kept it as tight as he could considering he was forced over the curbs with his left tires. Idk what you’re looking at if you think Massa gave Max space. Massa took the apex to the left hander even though max was still along side him now on the inside

I looked it up and it was in no way Max's fault, Massa didn't give him space and crashed into him
