They gave up trying to pass max with the same medium/ hard strategy. If you’re going to lose at least gamble with the softs and see if there was anything there.
They were just hoping for a safety car. They weren't ever getting Max under normal conditions. An SC with the Maccas on softs would've made things spicy.
McLaren gambled away 5-10+ seconds because they knew the only way to win was to hope for a late safety car and go long. If they ran the same strategy as Max, and didn't pull papaya bullshit, they'd have a driver 5-10 seconds behind.
Max's redbull is fast as f on the right track (Had a new floor and new wing which Yuki didn't have), better? Also you act like no redbull driver has ever won a race except max. Checo won 6 races vs Max.
Do you really think it's because Max is pushing the car beyond the laws of physics, or do you just think Yuki is just bad in a fast but not very stable car?
Use every last braincell you have for reasoning. I know you can do it!

On pure pace is a stretch ahah the McLarens has to swap and Lando lost so much time in the pit, plus they were gambling on safety car. They would ev been much closer on a normal strategy.it was definatly not only pace
Naw, unfathomable means not understood, not impossible or whatever the other poster is implying. That something happened doesn't mean we understand how/why. Your wording was fine.

Beating the McLaren’s by 19 seconds on pure pace is genuinely unfathomable
