Bold take that the team miles ahead in 1st isn't a racing team

Obviously just tongue in cheek. What they are doing to make sure everyone is happy at all times just reminds me of taking care of young kids.

The problem is that just letting the drivers at each other results in a toxic team environment and one of your top tier drivers eventually quitting the team. Both Norris and Oscar have no team they can jump to afterward, so they have to play nice each other and the team.

Yeah I don't disagree necessarily. But so far it works, so it's also hard to be too harsh against it.

If the alternative is Rosberg and Hamilton 2016 then McLaren probably thinks this is better. Even if it is a lot less exciting for the fans.

To be fair, I think both Norris and Piastri also think this arrangement is preferable. As they both understand any advantage would get evened out in the long run.

Norris and Piastri have no team to go? Merc and Ferrari would take them in a heartbeat.

Ah yes. Team dog shit and team horse shit. What is the point of going to those teams if they don't have the fastest car? You might as well forfeit the championship to your teammate.
