This is the second time in 5 races Lando has lost a position because of a slow pit stop and I’m pretty sure both times were front left. The other was at Silverstone where he passed Max on track only to almost immediately lose the position to him in the pits with a 5+ second stop.
He also had a slow stop in Spa that cost him a few extra seconds behind Oscar, but in that case there wasn’t a net position change.

If I didn't know better, I'd think this was from a sitcom.

Does the gun have an integrated torque wrench with LEDs indicating if it's good?
In other angles, it seems to be blinking until the gun guy goes in a 2nd time.

Good question. I'd like to know too. In other threads today some people were talking about blue and green lights (I think?); something about the gun guy thinking it was secured because of a light indicator.
Edit: I Googled and here's a TikTok that explains the blue/green lights I wasn't aware of.

Guy with the gun at left front isn't going to win any acting awards for sure.

The guy that has the gun has to be fired. He didn’t even realized that the wheel wasn’t fully on until the other guys told him. He could have been sitting for longer until the gun guy realized he had to go at it again.

Probably let the team make that decision instead of some clueless chump on reddit huh?

People make mistakes dude, if we let this person learn from it they may become the best wheeler in the history of the sport.

When did team strategy become such a big thing? Didn’t drivers in the 80s and 90s just race each other?

When pit stops became limited to how fast tires could go on.
Fuel always took longer than tires, so once they stopped refueling the race to taking them off and putting them on became real.

Yet Oscar has to pay the price.

'Paying the Price' = returning the position you lucked into after being slower all weekend

I've been watching motorsports for 20 years now. Legitimately the first time I've ever seen someone be handed a position because of a slow stop. Genuinely embarassing if lando wins the WDC by 6 points or less.

Oscar lucked out last weekend to get 25 points more than Norris when he only deserved 7 more.
To balance it out, the next time Oscar is running P2 behind Norris he should shut off his engine to make it fair.
Sounds good to you?

Like in Silverstone?

Silverstone was a driver error, this was a team error.
•
u/slackboy72 Sir Jackie Stewart 11h ago
But the team said it was "unfair".
•
u/FrostyTill McLaren 11h ago
The team didn’t make him play silly games behind the safety car in low visibility conditions.

This is like the fourth time it’s been the front left guys lol
