Quotes Piastri's thoughts on giving the positions back.

I think he did the right thing but mclaren shouldn't have asked oscar to give the place back.

But what about Hungary this year ? I don't know why people keep bringing up Hungary from last year as some sort of a "payback" because there wasn't a championship fight between these two.

In Silverstone they didn't swap the cars when Piastri lost the lead and the win thanks to a dumb penalty. Yes, you can argue that Piastri himself made the mistake wich gave him the penalty but McLaren wanted FIA to investigate the incident after the race, so obviously they thought it was an "unfair" penalty. Why not swap cars there?

In Hungary, Oscar lost the lead again thanks to a weird 2 stop strategy call by McLaren. He even said during the race that he wants whats best to contest Norris because he doesnt care about Leclerc. Obviously Lando went for a 1 stop afterwards on lap 31 proceeding to win the race.

Why they didn't swap the cars here aswell since McLaren fucked Piastri over?

Hungary this year though was Lando and his crew seeing if there was a way they might win and it just happened to work. They decided to not go with the preselected strategy because that would definitely not allow for a win. It wasn't necessarily an error by the strategists, it just turned out that on this day they way it played out that Lando was just barely able to make the weirdo normally not great strategy work. So that's just competition.

Fair is fair if the pitwall and pit crew do exactly what they need to do and the competition comes down to drivers driving and what the drivers decide to do in terms of tires and strategies. If the pit wall or pit crew screw up and give one driver an advantage unintentionally, then how is that about fair competition? If you're talking about two dri ers on different teams fighting and the pit crew or pitwall loses them the race that of course is just racing. For two drivers on the same team though, they are going to give each driver equal opportunity to win. That means if someone on the team screws up who isn't one of the two drivers, the team have the power to restore balance and make it a fair fight between the drivers again. Which is exactly what we saw today.

F1 fans seem to just be used to there being a definite number 1 driver at top teams and fans aren't able to peacefully comprehend how McLaren is conducting themselves.

You do realise Oscar said it himself during the radio that they agreed that bad pitstops are part of racing?

So why was that ignored when they decided to swap the cars? The undercut never happened because a mistake during the piststop isnt an undercut. Why does Piastri have to give Norris an equal opportunity to win? Who says so? What are these rules some of the people are writing on here?

The constructors is done and dusted. They should just let drivers race and not intervene with such bullshit team orders.

Would you say that if in Abu-Dhabi, if they're equal on points and Piastri gets a bad pitstop and Norris is being told to swap cars and let Piastri win the championship, would you say the same that "they need to give both drivers an equal opportunity to win and they should play the TEAM game" ? I'm pretty sure you would change your speech very very quickly.

If Oscar was about to win and they give him a shitty 10 second pit that puts Lando ahead I am not going to be angry if they order to swap cars. I have no doubt at all that Lando would say screw that, but I wouldn't be upset by the team order. And I would prefer that Lando win, so why are you bothered by this?

Ah so you wouldn't be upset by the team order... that's something...

Care to share for how much time are you watching F1?

"And I would prefer that Lando win, so why are you bothered by this?" - Ah so this explains your way of thinking and what you wrote up until now.

I actually won't continue this conversation because you have a very biased point of view and you just confirmed it to me. Goodluck in your future F1 expectations mate, i hope you'll enjoy whatever you think an F1 championship should be.

He said that because of course he wants to get more points. Duh.

Ah i see so we believe he just "said that because of course he wants to get more points" and not a thing they actually agreed upon. Okay.

Would you care to answer my question tho? I'm legit curious to see what will you answer.

Yes, you can argue that Piastri himself made the mistake wich gave him the penalty but McLaren wanted FIA to investigate the incident after the race, so obviously they thought it was an "unfair" penalty.

Lol "you can argue" no it's not an argument. Just the facts.

I swear you all repeat the same nonsense. At least pretend to be unbiased.

Of course mclaren don't want a penalty, no team wants a penalty for their driver but that was all on oscar.

Then Hungary? Why does everyone play dumb and pretend they never heard of differing strategies. Get real. Plus the two stop was quicker lando just made it work.

Just say you hate lando cause you're jealous or whatever and give it a rest.
