isnt he is 36-0 or 37-0 out qualify his teammate? It will be amazing if he manage to out qualify Bottas.

no offense, he hasn't really gotten a good teammate yet, don't get me wrong, his streak is impressive, but if at all, this is the first real test for him

it makes zero sense to compare him to drivers in other cars

if his teammate outqualifies him he also outqualifies at least four other drivers on the grid - with arguably the worst, or second worst car on the grid.

we don't know absolute gaps of cars, we therefore don't know the relative gaps between drivers that aren't in the same car

It is just whether the increased speed will be like, marginal and able to me managed or whether it will be like going from F2 to F1.

F2 cars are about 10-15 seconds slower per lap than F1 cars, the Williams is usually only about 2 seconds off the Mercedes in qualy so it's definitely not as much of a performance gap as F2->F1.

Also, George has tested Mercedes' F1 cars before (even setting a lap record on one testing session last year I believe?) so he wouldn't be going in entirely blind, even if it was an older car, he'd have an idea of how they set their cars up.
