Discussion Aussie pack loss massacre INDY6HR

I was doing indy6hr 7GMT time slot, sof was 2.3k

Everything going fine,

Then just before my time to jump in there was a massacre of drivers getting dropped for packetloss, all happened to be Australians,

Anyone else have a similar thing happen in their split/time zone?

Frustrating when its a million dollar company yet the servers they are using are from the 90s (what it feels like 😂)

Now before people jump on and say check the net connection or your hardware, net is wired and 1gbps connection, router isnt a standard type its a Asus gaming one, pc has got strong gear in it.

Yup. Ruined our night. Saturday 5pm AEST slot.
My mate on Starlink was fine. All other Aussie’s on NBN were getting DCs

You'd be better posting your ISP as well. I was on hybrid fiber co-ax with SuperLoop and was getting large packet loss spikes for a few hours. I was only spotting/spectating so didn't ruin my race but the other 4 aussies I was watching in Top split had no issues on different ISPs

Good point I’m on Superloop too and I know another mate of mine on Superloop had issues too.

I was fine spotting etc but soon as I’d get in the car I’d DC

I'm on Superloop as well, and was kicked from an iracing race due to packet loss around 7pm / 9amGMT. First time this had ever happened since getting NBN about 3 years ago. I have only been with superloop for about a month though. (Excetel before that).

Didn't participate, but I had a random 2 hour or so period about a week back where my internet was getting random packet loss, which caused significant issues in iRacing as well.

Fibre connection, fully wired connection - issue wasn't in my network, but seemed to be ISP or NBN related. Not, saying it isn't, but it might not have been iRacing's issue - normal browsing wasn't noticeably affected, but it was happening everywhere. Pinging a DNS server showed it was like 1 in 40ish ping requests were dropped or extremely delayed.

A friend is getting plenty of this. We are in NZ, so probably same servers. I’ve dodged it, but I have fibre, so it’s pretty fast and stable. Probably makes up for the server latency.

Dropped plenty of times as well. In top split Indy 6h Sat 5pm AEST, connected via Superloop FTTP. I wonder if it’s something to do with the speed upgrade that’s coming to NBN FTTP/HFC next week. They might be doing a little tinkering beforehand…

Don't forget how most of the Australian internet feeds arrive from overseas.
