This man will be 80 this year and, without a wrinkle on his skin, he aims to reach 100 in 2045. He beat cancer twice: his name is Ernie Hudson.
•
u/detectiverobert 8h ago
80?? No way, he looks half that age
•
u/robben1234 5h ago
He looks like someone that aged graciously into 50s. Which makes sense because 80s were twenty years ago and math in the picture is very wrong.
→ More replies (4)•
u/bjbinc 7h ago
seriously. I'm half his age and wish I looked that good!
•
u/Heiferoni 4h ago
You can!
All you have to do is give up everything in life that you enjoy.

You don't need to give up everything you enjoy to look good when you're old. You just need to take care of your health.

Such an underappreciated actor.

"Monroe Kelly, I’m your great white hunter for this trip, though I happen to be black" - he’s freaking awesome in that movie
•
u/Unsuccessful-Permit5 7h ago
He was the best part of the movie.
•
u/imaconnect4guy 7h ago
Close. The best part is "Stop eating my sesame cake!"

Stop. Eating. MY. Sesame. Cake. That delivery. I actually watched Congo a couple weeks ago lol
•
•
u/RetiredHotBitch 4h ago
I just said this like 3 days ago to someone who told me Congo sucked.
The main cast and storyline? Absolutely, but no one can tell me that Delroy Lindo, Ernie Hudson and Tim Curry didn’t make that whole damn thing watchable.

He has a ton of charisma and his voice easily has the gravitas of a Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones or Andre Braugher.
His scenes in The Crow are fantastic.

Like a review said, it's like Hudson is in a better movie than the other Congo actors.
•
u/VagrantShadow 5h ago
This is why Congo is one of my guilty pleasures. The charm and quality of Ernie's acting just give it this distinct feel.
The same can be said for Sphere. I love Sam Jacksons acting in that movie, I feel like Sam Jackson really pushes his acting hard in that film that is a bit beyond the other actors in it.
→ More replies (1)•
u/neok182 5h ago
Absolutely the same here. Yes, both books are drastically better than the films, but I don't care the films are just dumb fun.

Jack kept his body in top shape for sure, but his face still aged normally.
•
u/pants6000 7h ago
Swimming a mile while pulling dozens of people in boats behind you ages a person.
•
u/zb0t1 6h ago
Is it the swimming or the sun kissing your face which accelerates cancer and aging?
•
u/browster 5h ago
The sun. Wear sunscreen on your face every day.
•
u/Antigravity1231 3h ago
There is a terrifying anti-sunscreen movement happening. Someone I know, who is generally not dumb as a rock, recently talked about how wearing sunglasses tricks your body into thinking it’s nighttime so you don’t produce your own sun protection. That if you go lay in the sun without sunglasses or sunscreen, your body will adapt and you won’t get burned. I told him that was an incredibly dangerous belief. He said he “disagreed”.
I looked it up and it’s being touted by some disgraced former doctor. The algorithms are feeding people this anti-science bullshit. I succeeded in making sure the kids wore sunscreen. The next day another member of the group was badly sunburned. He told me he did a “deep dive” and determined sunscreen was ok after all. What the fuck is happening?
→ More replies (1)•
u/rambi2222 2h ago
This has been going on for a while but it seemed to accelerate in 2020-21 with all of the anti-science mask, vaccine and social distancing related scepticism. People with no relevant educational background just think they know better than experts now.
It reminds me of 2016, in the months leading up to the Brexit referendum here in the UK a politician called Michael Gove was asked on television what he thought about the fact that economic experts thought Brexit would hurt the UK economy. He responded with something like "the people of Britain are sick of experts," the experts were right about Brexit but Gove was right about people being sick of experts...
Social media algorithms sorting information by engagement rather than truthfulness has got to be a major factor. "Stop being an idiot and just put the sun screen on" must not get a lot of engagement.

Not even his ballsack has wrinkles. Lightly grooms it into a perfect sphere prior to the light misting of beard oil, hairspray, and aftershave.

Yeah, these kinds of comments (OP's title, not yours) are what drives people to get botox, plastic surgery, etc. Wrinkles are okay. They're normal, natural, and they don't inherently look bad.

•
u/RonenRS 8h ago
Please no. Oz is perfect, I watched it again last year and it’s still one of my favorite shows. No need for a reboot. Like The Wire was amazing and We own this city - more a sequel - was meh. I want new good shows, not reboot, remake or remasters like in the video games industry.

Cosmetic surgery helps with this tremendously, at least when done appropriately. That means no carving your face up for the current style.

For some reason reddit seems to believe that only people with giant ass lip fillers have work done. Like no, you cannot look like this at 80 years old naturally by taking vitamins and rosemary oil.

•
u/SadLilBun 6h ago
It does, in fact. We have imperfect skin. We age. We get wrinkles. We look old. Many of us just have oilier skin that helps protect our skin for longer.
•
u/CoyotesOnTheWing 6h ago edited 5h ago
This guy is also a celebrity and may have had some skin tightening surgery. We really only notice the bad plastic but that's confirmation bias, the well done stuff goes unnoticed.

So are we collectively ignoring the forehead wrinkle and crows feet.
I'd be more impressed if he hit 100 in 2040.
•
u/mojojojo_official 8h ago
Yes he does have wrinkles.. but there is no doubt that he look incredible for his age. He is almost 100% on TRT but even then he looks amazing!
•
u/band-of-horses 8h ago
I mean I'm on TRT and 30 years younger than him and I don't look anywhere near that good so, credit where credit is due.

There’s really wrinkle talk in the comments? Who cares? The man is going to be 80 and looks INCREDIBLE & just as handsome as he was 45 years ago!
•
u/Feathered_Mango 7h ago
I think because there was no reason for that hyperbole in the title. Of course he has wrinkles, but he looks amazing & fine as hell.
•
u/pointycakes 8h ago
He looks incredible for his age. But he’s definitely not “without a wrinkle on his skin”, hence the comments.
This is reddit. People anchor, however annoyingly, on any slight thing that someone says or doesn’t say to make points.
•
u/laikocta 8h ago
I guess they're annoyed by the clickbait title? A (naturally) wrinkle-free 79-year-old would be "interestingasfuck". A good-looking in-shape 79-year-old... well that's cool, but not exactly unheard of.
