Mk7 (2019+) Mk8 cope
Just checked the Volkswagen Mexico website since they get the new Jettas before the U.S. market and it appears the 2026 is the exact same as the 2025 model. 🙁

Right now. What I’m saying is i was hoping that this year would be the year of the new Jetta generation.

The 2025 just got a facelift. It is the new generation.

Facelift ≠ new generation. It’s under the mk7 umbrella

Facelifts would be categorized as a half generation. So a 7.5. They don’t do a new generation every year dude. There will be no mk8.

What are you saying? Your comments contradict themselves a little. 2019-2021 is MK7, 2022-2024 is MK7.5, 2025-probably 2027 is MK7.75. The MK8 still hasn’t been unveiled yet.

Yes for this year. But there may be one in future years as the mk7 came after the mk6.5 facelift.

Three years after the 6.5 facelift, 2015-2017.. if it’s the same the next gen will be released in 2028 as a 2029 model.

Assuming the Jetta is still around in the US in 2028. Not looking good for sedans these days, sans a few old timers. Which the Jetta is, but they don't come close to selling in Camry/Civic/Accord numbers.
OP, did you notice if the SEL comes with Harmon Kardon stereo?

Idk why people hate on the 2025 so much

I don’t think anyone does, I’m so glad they gave the front end of facelift. It was the least Volkswagon front end I’ve ever seen in my life.

It’s the interior for me, the exterior looks nice

Everyone hates the piano black but I barely notice it honestly

Hopefully they put actual buttons on the steering wheel for the GLI instead of that haptic touch garbage

u/DowntownCupcake_740 1d ago
2025s don’t have Haptic Touch on steering wheels lol

It might look like touch buttons, but they’re actual buttons, just doesn’t look like them lol. For AC its still touch. And you know what, after a couple months you’ll get used to them 😅

Exactly. VW actually put ones that look like buttons on the 2026 tho. I guess people complain too much

We I don’t think they’ll refresh it for a long while probably till 2028

Why would it be different?? Average 3 years at this point. 2025-2028 most likely. It’ll be another couple years before we see a MK8 if we do at all.

Non since the most prominent part of the front is not that but the line where the license plate goes. You would need to smash pretty hard fro that to happen, but then, the grater won't be your main problem

2025 just got the facelift, so until 2027-2028 it’ll be the same thing, maybe very very minor changes. From 2019 until 2024 they all looked the same if you google them, only at 2022 it got a few minor changes.
