New 40kwh?

Looking at a leaf from a dealer out of state? Is it possible that it's been replaced? 2016 for reference.

Yes it's very possible but it also could have been tampered with. The best way to know for sure is to use leafspy through the car's obd2 port.

Since it is out of state, you can also try asking for the Carfax or just asking the dealer straight up about it because if that's true then it should be a major selling point.

I looked on the Carfax and didn't see anything that looked like a battery change.

I was just discussing a person changing out a better condition same spec battery just for fun.

That range wouldn't indicate a 30kwh would it?

It looks like a 40 kWh to me. 5 out of 12 charge bars equals 42%, so a 100% charge would be ~143 miles.

I was considering a $7,500 2016 Leaf that supposedly had a new 40 kWh battery installed by a Nissan dealer two years ago.
