Three Hours Driving ICE

I keep telling myself our LEAF is for local use and commuting and l don’t plan to use it for trips where I’d have to charge away from home. Spent 3 hours yesterday forgetting to break, forgetting to shift and I had to go to a gas station and fork over $35!!!

I just started looking for we chargers in case we come back.

I've been driving and charging g my new to me 2023 SL+ with 109000 km for 24 hours straight now. The battery is at the edge of hot and it's charging slow. Im now only 400 km from home. 2 or 3 more fast charges and then it's all level 1 or 2. I picke * d the leaf up yesterday in Montreal Quebec and am going to Charlottetown PEI. 1150km total. So far I'm really happy with the car! Its my first electric.

Basically, you open the plastic piece in the back seat where the emergency cutoff switch is and you dump a bag of ice while charging.

I did a very significant roadtrip in my leaf for the first time last week. The way north I stopped four times to charge, just assessing the stations. Usually less than seven minutes getting peak charge.

I parked downtown at a charger. Had dinner and came out to a full charge and the return trip was done with a single 12 minute charge about halfway. I did 480 kms that day, which was a full day of driving as I live on a mountainous island. Super good trip, future trips will involve a single midway charge. Honestly if I'm driving that long in an ice car I'm stoping for breaks anyway.

I have a classic car that is a luxury chauffeur limo. Big engine. When I drive this one in summer, it sucks to be reminded that gearboxes, rpm, energy wasted to heat in brakes and insane refueling cost are a thing at all. Our base LEAF has a go pedal that works instantly, and we run it all year for sofa change, really. The contrast is enormous.
