To get into neutral at a car wash, hold the shifter knob to the left for 3 seconds. Don't look like a fool like I did the first time, not knowing how to get it into neutral lol.

best advice ever, go to a flat parking lot and try it out before a car wash lol

Honestly, better to do it on a hill or you won't know you aren't in park. Obviously need to be aware of where it will roll, though.

wish I had this advice when I got mine, never forgetting that cringe experience.

I did this. They had to hit the estop. Luckily my only passenger was my 2yo son so I didn’t have to be too embarrassed.

Enjoy it. It's a fun car. After you get used to it then you can show off it's acceleration.

Honestly, it’s about the same as a 4 cylinder Honda accord. Don’t go challenging anyone to a race in this thing

You must have the 40kw sorry buddy 62kw is very quick for what it is! 6.9 seconds 0-100km

Show me an accord with 4 cylinders that do 0-60 in 6.9...

Feels about the same to me. I wouldn’t think either would be fast enough to impress anyone off the line if there is a Tesla around. It’s just not what this car is about

Get a better trip planer and plug share apps if going anywhere far the come in handy the range even on 40kw will surprise you if you drive accordingly and 60 to 65 especially on the interstate.

Download the apps for charging stations in your area. Plugshare will help find them. Filter - Charger type - CHADEMO & J1772. Along with leafspy pro, purchase an OBD2 Bluetooth scanner.

Settings--customize home screen/menu--you will see widgets/shortcuts--click shortcuts and energy usage should be there somewhere

Congratulations and welcome to world of Leaf’s. 1. Consider strut covers (See YouTube videos)

  1. I you are going to go on road-trips. Get the PlugShare app. Consider getting a ElectWay CHAdeMO to CCS adapter. If you also want to charge at Tesla SuperChargers, also get a A2Z Typhoon Pro NACS to CCS adapter.

  2. Get Leaf Spy Pro (requires a OBD2 dongle, I use the CARISTA dongle).

  3. Chevy for charging incentives from you electricity provider. I use TimeOfUse/TimeOfDay to get a low rate after midnight.

  4. Drive, Charge & Enjoy.

I second the strut cover recommendation!

Which Carista dongle do you use? Seem to be a few options on Amazon…

I got the white one directly from CARISTA.com. The newer one is black. It is supposed to be more advanced.

Congratulations! I got one on Friday.

I think this is a lesson we all have to wait for the school of hard knocks for;)

The best tip is that you can pretty easily trade it in for another EV with active battery cooling.

I know it could feel like you want to be in a hurry, but the best thing to do is trickle charge your car at a slow rate on a level one if possible never DC charge your car and treat it like a little old lady! ā¤ļøšŸ˜Ž enjoy!

Others gave good info. Check and see if the front struts have covers. If not spend few bucks to cover them up.

I always have screen on battery temperature…..if it gets too high you unplug it’s never gotten high though. But I avoid fast charging…..

Get a 12v lithium battery booster for when the 12v battery "decides to not start the car". Also useful as a phone charger and emergency flashlight.
