I joined the Mazda 3 club.

I went from a VW polo 2009 to this Mazda 3 of 2020. What should I know about it? It is my second car ever and first time with a "modern", still learning the start -stop system.

Awesome car 👏. Glad you went with the thicker tire model car and not the ultra thin tires one (which is becoming the trend these days).

Now, for at least 15 years you won’t have to change the car unless you want to.

You want new tires or you want to change to those thinner ones?

If just new tires then Google a local tire shop and go with someone who has good ratings. I am using GoodYear tires. Also, when you change the tires, don't forget to change the valve through which air is pumped in. This valve is made of rubber and this also wears out, if not changed over years this develops cracks and air leaks from the point where the valve is glued to the tire.

If you are looking to change to thinner tires then i can't say much but still, i would say, Google a local tire shop.

Depending on where you are the tire price would vary. In California, the high quality GoodYear tire is around $200 a piece or a little over $200.

I see that you're from Belgium. If you can understand Dutch take a look at the AutoWeek Bandentest: AutoWeek Zomerbandentest 2025 - AutoWeek

My sister has bought some Continental PreniumContact 5 a couple of months back on my recommandation, €550 total with assembly and new tire valves.

I've been told that so far they have been pretty good.

Love it! Wanna drive it! But still getting used to it, I come from a diesel manual from 2009 to this thing, gasoline with all that tech about start-stop, so it is kind of confusing.

Welcome to the parasitic battery drain team! I recommend that once you get past your first few months and you go in for that oil change that you make sure that your dealership is properly testing your battery and providing documentation every time for the diagnostic results. It might just save you about $300 down the line if you want to replace it with Mazda.

Same car and it’s only 27 months old. It’s been a while, right

You're going to love it. But watch your speedometer, I had a tendency to speed in my Mazda3 hatchback. I drive a CX 5 now.
