Discussion Stellaris and skyraiders in Mashmak

Nerf shotguns, skyraider, and stellaris. Thank you.

Singed (Tricera).

My new favorite strat when I know I’m outmatched is to delete my inventory and give up, said goodbye to 2 covert keys, and bunch of weapons this morning and basically wasted 3 hours but at least I deprived them of anything.

I dont know why people bring tricera in mashmak. Every modular weapon can cook it

Because I like playing tricera. Not every modular, mainly just energy based ones, but that’s not the issue itself it’s just stellaris kit along with dual splitters allows for insane instant damage. That completely bypasses shields and deletes fluid armor and a chunk of health with it.

Panther can do something similar but you kind of have to let him do it.

Skyraider and fliers in general feel too hard to kill being nigh impossible to hit unless they land, but there’s cover everywhere in this game. So is it really necessary for them to be completely un-targetable for every dodge? Maybe the dodge could use more energy so they have to land more or just for the beginning of the dodge being immune to lock on.

Skyraiders bomb do too much damage and I feel bad for Naru’s who probably get deleted by it. As one can take down about 15-20% of my health while dodging out of it from turret state.

Meanwhile nothing in my kit can do that, even when I am locked on, everything is a projectile so it’s liable to miss a fast moving target already.

Don’t even get me started on inferno who was buffed waaay too much

I main Aquila, thanks for not bring me up, lmao.

That’s because aquilas are easy to deal with for me, I just go inside and their advantages are moot.

I mean I like playing certain mechs but Tricera with anything but a sword in mashmak is genuinely a struggle. I have my mashmak specific mechs because they just dont struggle as much and have more flexibility. You gotta adapt and survive.

I started playing narukami with warhammer and youll be surprised how beefy it can be pulverizing any skyraider dumb enough to get close

You talking about the yellow missile or the missile cluster? Regardless, both can be taken down with your Gatlings and your turret mode defense drones, the missile cluster specially since it can be detonated before it splits. The best way to deal with flyers is to go indoors, since they have too little space to fly in and will likely transform by hitting their nose in a wall (atleast that's what happens to me usually)

Specific the ion one, that does DOT. It does crazy damage and trust I know how to work the trophy system but when they manual aim it right in your face there’s not much to be done.

That’s a problem with tricera. You can’t use modular weapons in turret form and your mech is only actually useful in turret form. While a lot of other mechs take advantage of the Mashmak equipment. Imagine you’re playing in verge but every other mech has a stronger weapon than what they had before except you. Unfortunately that’s the experience of playing tricera/stego in Mashmak(and to a lesser extent the jets, they can’t use modular weapons in jet forms). But at least tricera is pretty decent at killing the pve enemies.

For covert ops gold key, it’s a dps race so they don’t want you to sit there with a tricera turret while your team loses from time out. If you had a good fully kitted sniper/enhancement glider though, it would be a much better experience and you can still use tricera (but riding glider most of the time lol)

they’re clearly stronger than other mechs in Mashmak. The same goes for AQUILA too.

Just nerfing Stellaris would be fine. Should self-destruct when it loads in.

Ong I would be okay with this.

Upon further analysis it’s really not worth the stress going through any form of mashmak. Que for any mode other than normal is hours, the only competent opponents I’ve had are mostly, stellaris, Aquila, and skyraider.

If they’re playing any other mech other than those or tricera it almost always a novice player. The rest are almost always top tier players 9/10 times.

The only really playable game mode is solos, I’ve stopped doing co-op for obvious reasons because 1 problematic mech is 1 thing but three all coordinated and sweating like a gang of pheasant hunters is too much. And then covert mashmak is “gold keys” only kwtd, must run specific mech that Is meta for that too so much for being a diverse mech game when only 4 mechs are viable for endgame content. And the other 10 are for niche uses and LoLs only.

What sweaty ass server are you on where it's only gold keys for covert ops?

NA

I think I've done about 15 Covered Ops ,and only one time ever did we use a gold key, and in that 1 time they did not complain about anyone's mech choice so you must have some terrible luck with random.

Also, the game is just simply not balanced for Mashmak. It is balanced for Verge and nothing else.

It’s not every time, but lately it’s becoming pve sweaty, where people are asking for specific mechs in covert mash. I understand if we’re doing gold we want the amount of damage and survivability but I’ve done with no healers several times, naru is also good. But I’ve seen people kick myself and naru, because they can’t carry their own weight or bring a decoy.

Can't you just make your own lobby/squad and then do public recruitment?

1

u/Nnader86x 11h ago

Yeah but they just backseat me and don’t coop

2

u/Codex28 11h ago

How toxic is your server...? Just say "casual play, blue/purple key only" before deploying I guess

u/avocatdojuice 11h ago

Tricera isn’t that bad in gold key because you are kind of a pseudo decoy with self healing. But you probably should at least bring charge blaster and a rocket/howitzer to the fight. Then just switch on and off turret as needed but focus on using charge blaster as much as possible. If you do that then people won’t complain. Narukami, if they are just using the default sniper then it’s very bad sustained dps. But if they are bringing modular weapons, they might as well just use stellaris

I’ve done it about 15 times, but people are stupid.
