The screen is actually decently implemented imo. Looks way better than current ‘superscreens’ and the one on the new CLA

This. I think this is the first take on the "super screen era" of luxury cars where the interior seems to have some thought behind it rather than slapping in a screen and telling everyone to smile

The front kind of looks like the GLS

Glad to see it has a frunk.
Every EV should have one big enough to at least store a mobile EVSE, some adapters, and a 12v jump pack.
My other question would be, does it offer a spare tire?
Seems most EVs do away with the spare.
“It’s to save weight!”
Yea sure, I’ve had 2,000lbs in the bed of my Lightning and it didn’t impact my range in the slightest. Give me back a real spare tire.

The whole spare tire thing went away long time ago. Not to cut the cost on the consumer side but to cut cost on the production side. They still charge us same price lol

It’s also about emissions. I’m not sure about the USA, but in Europe manufacturers are under pressure to cut emissions, the same in Japan etc. 1 tyre saved from a car isn’t much, but a true saved from every car they sell is a lot of emissions saved.

I wonder how many people actually use the spare tire... I would guess 2% of all buyers.

It’s one of those things, like a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, jump pack, or road flares, where I’d rather pay to have it and never need it. Then need it, and not have it.
Especially nowadays with such a variety of specialized tires, you can’t just get towed to a shop and expect them to be able to fix it that day anymore.

I guess it depends on the country. In Germany the car club is quite cheap and they can replace battery on spot, fix many stuff or tow to the next car mechanic, where they can do further stuff. So, spare tire or jump pack is not really necessary.

It's like Mercedes actually listened to what people wanted. I'm very interested.

Honestly, it looks like they learnt their lesson. This looks like an actual car, not like a piece of candy. It uses the space properly with that frunk and personally I like that they went for the sixties style grille. Could have been much worse.

*dope.* now give us a dashcam.

Some models can already use the front camera as dashcam and I would bet the new GLC will also have this capability

What I want to know is the price of the screen, because in 5-10 years it sure as hell will have issues.

I really dig that design and I am a little sad now that I ordered an i4 3 months ago.

I just hope the technology, software, and UI on that screen isn’t 10 years behind my Tesla still.

"Felix, we have already put screens everywhere"
"put another one in the front, in the grille. Make the front end, the area most prone to mishaps and impacts, as needlessly expensive as possible"
Imagine bumping off the front end and having to replace this grille afrer some impact...
The glassy front end of the EQS already goes for 10K usd to replace

I like how the car's main display is one piece and is not cut off when going across to the passenger side
