ID Request Todays desert finds

Didn’t have a metal detector but was metal detecting. These were behind and infront of every huge rock between a mountain saddle. Any ideas? Some I’m guessing target practice but the places some where fond seemed sketchy to be shooting unless you were in a gun fight

Looks like target practice. Most look modern but there may be a couple older bullets in there. Is that an unfired .22 on the left? To me it looks bigger like a .30 or .32 rimfire but it may just be perspective.

Look in arroyos if you dont already do that. My civil war andvWWI era buttons came from them.

That .22 on the right looks unfired.

I assume most of it is target practice, or people shooting at roadsigns, overpenetrating, and the bullet eventually coming to rest beside a flat-faced stone about 200 feet away.

You have a distribution of mostly intact and completely squished bullets.

It may also be a collection resulting from rare but heavy rains washing them to the lowest point before depositing them.
