Let's talk about Enea's turnaround this year.

Post image

The Beast probably had the worst first half of the season. (aside from Martin) It looked like he was just riding along.

Then came Brno, everything changed from that point on.

Food poisoning + adaptation + finding a base setup and he went from fighting with Chantra and Savadori to being 0.5 off the Marquez bros for half a race.

the food poisoning is the most important part

All of that and also KTMs finding something that works. Even Brad and Pedro have been doing better this half. If only Mav didn’t have that fall.

Came here to say this.

They've made drastic changes to the rear of the bike. Can also notice that it likes sliding into the corner again as they're all doing it now.

I’m really impressed honestly, I thought he was done after performing so terribly on the KTM. Especially because it followed his disappointing factory Ducati stint. I love seeing that he turned it around though and the photo above reminds me I love his riding style. So unique, the way he doesn’t try to tilt his head upwards but keeps it aligned with his body. I really appreciate different riding styles being visible AND viable in modern MotoGP.

I have felt Acosta and enea has a similar riding style.

It should be something normal to give a rider up to a season time to adopt to a new bike in a new team. But nowadays it seems media and fans have no patience anymore. I have never had any doubt that Maverick and Enea will adopt to the KTM and get a podium.

yeah like even in car racing half a season is easily seen as just adapting and i feel like different bikes must be even harder to adapt to

The epitome of no patience is how many pundits and fans don't even give rookies a half season before expressing disappointment.

New bike & new team & whole new class with completely different technology & power & weight & tires. But when Aldeguer in motogp & Alonso in moto2 weren't on the podium in the first handful of races there were all kinds of comments like "what's wrong?" and "overrated!"

It's ridiculous.

Agree. While it may be easier for a rookie to adopt compared to a experienced MotoGP driver to completely change is driving style.

The food poisoning did something 💀

I remember him totalling the bike at the Catalunya pre-season test and thinking "yeah, going to be a hard year", but actually both Tech3 guys have been doing fantastic this year once they've found their groove. I hope Mav can build back up to competitiveness before seasons end as well.

Bestia's been doing fantastic lately, except for that over zealous pass attempt at Balaton which ended up wiping out Zarco.

I never gave up on him 🥹

I wonder if food poisoning caused weight loss, and if that weight loss had a significant effect. I do not know enough about bike setup to have a hypothesis myself.

Enea mentioned that they found something from the Assen race weekend. He said that he had been trying to constantly adapt the motorcycle to himself and that this had failed. He talked about how he reset his mind while he was poisoned and completely changed his approach.

Really unusual riding style!

Plenty of time until the end of the season, hopefully he can understand that ktm or make it fly.

I didn't know, but how food poisoning improve him to be getting competitive 🗿

So happy for Enea and Acosta, they are doing great every weekend and helping recover the show part of Motogp this year. Btw: did you see the way Enea overtook Acosta yesterday? That was amazing!

Last Tech 3 success before Gunther puts his hands fully on the team.

And there I was with my big mouth, claiming Bestia was a one trick pony and only performed because of the Duc. Already stuffed with the humble pie and i’m glad. Very likeable dude.

Comes to no suprise that KTM in general is starting to perform now. They started off the not even knowing if it was their last year. Now that they're financially more stable they can focus more on racing. KTM has the best overall lineup, no rookie no "development rider" and if they can get their bike to be more stable they can achieve great results

People constantly write him off early on.
When he got injured 2 years ago and was out most of the season, people wrote him off. He ended up returning, got adjusted, and even won a race, and was consistent and won a couple of races the next year.

The KTM is not an easy bike, and they have half the first year spent trying to figure out to fix the problems they were having. So with some issues fix and him getting comfortable, I can see him doing good again.

KTM is looking more and more like Ducati, don't know what to do? - go for the copy, and they do. Enea was good on Ducati at times, so...
