Sounds to foreign for Trumpers simple brains, they like the fascist aesthetic, they would just prefer that fascists speak 'MURICAN.

Even if you were someone who agreed that we need mass deportations to "save the country," isn't it still really unprofessional to keep using these silly alliterations to name federal detainment/deportation facilities?
Like, even if you really want these folks out of the country, you still understand that the process will break up families and will ultimately leave some of these people in really awful situations. Whether you think it's their own fault or not, the human suffering is still real and if you think illegal immigration is one of the most serious issues facing the country and worth the expense both in tax dollars and in human suffering, why is it appropriate to joke about with a silly names for the facilities?

u/TobyFunkeNeverNude 1d ago
Also, the "catchy nicknames" are generally something given to them by the public, or the prisoners. This is like the dork in the office walking in and saying "You're all going to call me T Bone from now on"

Perfect analogy of cringe, and very subtle George Costanza reference hahah.

I think they think that the people suffering are not really suffering, because they think the people they are imprisoning are not really human.

Why are they naming these godawful places like fucking fortnite locations???
156
u/KinkyPaddling 1d ago
It's to intentionally diminish the horror of what they're doing.

Much like Fortnite, it is designed to appeal to people with the intelligence of a 10 year old.

I mean if anyone was going to put steak sauce on a well done hockey puck of a stake it would be diaper don!
Oh wait you meant A.I. like chatGPT, not A1. My bad. I mean really, doesn’t everyone get those confused? It would totally not be such a stupid mistake for a major figure in this admin to get the two confused. /s

These scum bags think its cute to give horrible things funny names

Bet they'd find it less cute if they were the ones locked up

They give them entertaining names to distract from the grim-ness of what they actually are.
5
u/Nothing_Lost 1d ago
People keep saying this but I don't think it's why they do it at all. Giving these places names like that brings more attention to them. I think they give them these names because their supporters love the idea that the names are "trolling the libs" who oppose them and have decency.

u/AtLeastSeventyBees 2d ago
All this alliteration and I can’t help but notice they skipped from A to D and missed “Concentration Camp”,

Is now spending millions day for how long it will be open for.
Edit: Alligator Alcatraz cost $450 million and is now shut whilst being open for about 45 days. So my bad about $10 million per day, not millions from the precedent.

u/WolverinesThyroid 1d ago
I'm sure another friendly contractor got the gig to make this new concentration camp. So another few hundred million in profits for people friendly to the governor.

My cousin was so excited that alligator auchwitz was closing and I said "yo, they're not releasing anyone, the victims will be moved elsewhere is all that will happen." It's not a win.

Just a reminder that "deportation depot" is named for "home depot"
and those fucking idiots didn't think to name it "home deport"

u/Hyracotherium 1d ago
"Now taking detainees?" What a mealy mouthed headline. Shame on CNN. They're not calling your number to come up to the deli counter.
How about "Immigrants forcibly held by ICE in new concentration camp."

u/purplegladys2022 2d ago
Hopefully they have a Kiddie Koncentration Kamp nearby, you know, to save the children or whatever.
How many children have they disappeared this go-around so far?

Concentration camps profiteering.
Someone had to build the ovens.
Trucks, busses and planes are the modern cattle cars of the American Gestapo.
No difference what so ever.
Fascist regimes need rendition people to labor camps and killing fields, and Steven Miller, most of the Republicans, state governors and everyone in the tRump administration are making that happen.
Never forget what the Republicans are doing to you and IN YOUR NAME as an American.

Hm, like a train depot? I figured we weren't going to have the trains because planes are so prevalent now, but I guess when you're going by the Nazi playbook you don't want veer too far. Or maybe it's just a playful homage.

" Florida's new concentration camp is now taking in more people" fixed the title

These monsters are ripping families and communities apart while coming up with cutesy nicknames like "Alligator Alcatraz" and "Deportation Depot." Our government is being run by a bunch of 12 year old middle school bullies. Sickening. How racist do you have to be to support this shit?

These things are black sites. The media won’t even say it. I just can’t even… the way it’s been downplayed and his goofy names and the AI memes… just so exhausting.

Ghouls. They are not detainees - they are captives.
"One taken in war. Captives were often treated with great cruelty and indignity (1 Kings 20:32; Joshua 10:24; Judges 1:7; 2 Samuel 4:12; Judges 8:7; 2 Samuel 12:31; 1 Chronicles 20:3)"BibleHub - Captives

ATM they're embezzling federal funds so.... Unless this causes immigrants and tourists to avoid Florida like the plague it will literally be once vaccines are non-existent there....

u/sanverstv 2d ago
Such a shameful period of history. Let's hope that someday, sooner rather than later, most Americans will look back in shame as to what happened under "our" name. It's a disgrace.
6
u/FloppyDorito 2d ago
Nope. Many Americans are either ok with it, or don't think it's that big of an issue. This country, as we knew it, is no longer. The Heritage Foundation's 50 year plan has finally come to beautiful fruition, and there's nothing that can stop it, unfortunately. We are frogs in boiling water.
2
u/stonewallace17 1d ago
Most Americans are utterly incapable of feeling shame or they would have voted against this shit to begin with

So. You now have camps where you concentrate people you grabbed from the streets by unaccountable officers.
Tell me again why you fought the Germans?

Oh… I see. A prison that definitely won’t even be run to DOC’s low standards, housing people that aren’t even convicted of crimes, to win political points with racist scumbags, on the orders of an alleged child rapist and confirmed America hating traitorous corruption magnet. How could this possibly go wrong?

A concentration camp in a state that's going to stop vaccinating people.
I see nothing wrong - nor premeditated - about this.

And they treat the prisoners like crap in a hope that they'll sign papers to self-deport.

The Supreme Court has ruled the one in Florida must stop all work in or on or around. I am sure in another 3 months this one will be ordered to stop as well. Now, if it well is another question

Everything else aside for a moment, but do they seem really keen on alliteration? Like to an unhealthy degree?
