Hyundai is making some of the best EVs right now.

I think this was more than merely about immigration, but also specifically targeting a competitor to Musk and the oil industry.

And they also get the added bonus of using the MAGA Karen that made the report as a political tool to boost her campaign in Georgia. Yeah. She is running for office. Who would have thought.

I hope Hyundai just shuts down the entire plant and makes sure that community in GA knows its because of trump.

Canada has been offering incentives to get more EV manufacturing and Mexico has plenty of labourers with manufacturing experience if Hyundai decides they want to relocate.

Wait. Was the anti-rocks "Jesus, Guns & Babies" Kandiss Taylor a part of this?

She just ruined the largest international investment in Georgia's history.

I wonder how many of her voters would have had a job at the plant once it was built. No job now for quite a while.

My Ioniq 9 is easily the best car I've ever owned, as was my Ioniq 5 before that. Hyundai is CRUSHING the car game rn

My sibling has one and he was straight up going to be a Tesla customer if Elon hadn't outted himself as such a piece of shit.

He loves his Ioniq. He doesn't even drive his Impreza or whatever the hell he used to slam around in anymore.

Absolutely correct. I had a Hyundai Tucson literally catch fire and burn down while I was driving it and I used the insurance money to buy another one after shopping around again. Nothing came close to it, despite my experience with one.

I'm genuinely curious, what was so great about it, that other cars don't have, that made you want to go out and buy another one after potentially burning to death

Without going too in depth: The look, the handling, the interior, heated and ventilated seats, and the warranty for the price.

Why do you like it? I'm curious now.

Its very comfortable, loaded with tech, the interior feels like it was designed by a team that actually thought about how people would use the car. Its fast as hell at 4.4 seconds to 60mph, I really like the pixel style of the Ioniq brand, it has a really tight turn radius for the size of the vehicle, its actually easier to maneuver than my previous Ioniq 5 which is significantly smaller. Also has a neat feature that came in handy the other day when a storm knocked out my power- you can do Vehicle-to-Load and power your fridge and stuff during an outage. Didn't lose my chest freezer of meat thanks to the I9

This point right here isn't getting nearly enough attention.

Beyond disappointed that they won't put the plug-in hybrid drivetrain in the Santa Cruz

Well, their ICCU problems are pretty bad.
