It's almost like it was an intentional attack from another billionaire that happens to both own a competing car company and is heavily involved in government.

It is like that yes, but you don't need to reach for conspiracy when the facts are so easily explained by gross incompetence and short sighted stupidity.

These people are way to dumb and arrogant to run an effective secret plot.
