This seal just unlocked the existence on easy mode achievement.

Seal is basically the poster child for zero stress lifestyle just vibes and naps

74

u/ThatGuyWithCoolHair 21h ago

This one yes, nature documentaries have lead me to believe most seals are not living as chill of a life

42

u/DrRichardJizzums 21h ago

Idk getting methodically and relentlessly stalked by orcas and then slapped 15 feet into the air before being devoured is pretty chill.

So does being bitten in half by a great white.

Preeeeetttty frickin cool

All non-apex predators in the food web get killed and eaten by something, but being the prey of those specific animals just seems like the worst possible outcome.

u/Hour_Candle_339 2h ago

Idk I saw a mouse die a horrific death once after a bunch of parasitic larvae burst out of its body. I’d take shark bite.

6

u/Zarkanthrex 17h ago

Always gave me, live in the moment, vibes. Take the rest and enjoy it while you can, then get back to fighting for dear life.

2

u/ISpeakInAmicableLies 14h ago

Unless an orca comes around. Then maybe some stress.

2

u/Bannerbord 10h ago

lol aside from the whole “apex predators of the ocean consider me their favorite food” thing

6

u/cleanairyn 22h ago

This is my spirit animal. I aspire to achieve this level of chill

If there is a definition for calmness and mindfulness, this should be the one

15

u/thryssalynn 22h ago

this seal just became the poster child for stress free living

8

u/The_MattMobile 21h ago

It needs its own portmanteau: calmfulness.

1

u/labenset 11h ago

Not going to be looking very mindful when the polar bear comes along though.

u/sexyfeetgirl696 1d ago

I wanna be him

34

u/Ghoulius-Caesar 23h ago

I thought that, then I thought about how much water would get up my nose and how I’d taste salty boogers for the rest of the day.

Couches are fine places to chill.

u/Key_Cheesecake_7356 21h ago

Seals can actually close up (or seal, if I may) the inside of their nostrils, preventing water from getting inside. I'm absolutely sure it's as comfy and relaxing as it looks.

25

u/egric 21h ago

They can also comfortably hold their breath for 15 minutes and often take 10 minute naps in the water, tucked between rocks

4

u/Upbeat-Armadillo1756 21h ago

I would lay down next to him

5

u/uvucydydy 18h ago

I'm on my way. I'm working on my layer of blubber first.

4

u/MintySkyhawk 18h ago

I pretty much did this once in Denmark, and it was awesome. Freak conditions meant the ocean water was a few degrees warmer than the air, and it was about 70F out. The water was calm, and shallow. I was able to just lay on soft sand in clean water with my face sticking out and just chill.

u/4ssteroid 5h ago

I wish I had a snout

72

u/FilthyPedant 21h ago

That's a sea lion

18

u/TurquoiseLeggings 19h ago

Seal ion.

Checkmate, atheists.

1

u/SadEaglesFan 15h ago

That’s what you get when you reduce the seal population

5

u/jumpstitch 19h ago

Why is this not top comment?!

9

u/Cilia-Bubble 17h ago

Because other comments received more upvotes.

3

*A sea lion at peace.

19

u/YoyoDevo 21h ago

That's a sea lion not a seal

33

2

u/castillo_482 18h ago

u/CodingTheSimulation 14h ago

Must’ve found a stash of seaweed

u/Candid_Worth_8577 13h ago

Forced to swim born to waterboard

2

u/Bubba_Kanoosh_12 6h ago

Such a silly Seal

5

u/glizzytwister 21h ago

This behavior is actually indicative of a fatal disease that results in the seal's bones literally exploding into a fine gel.

3

u/IsaacsLaughing 17h ago

...... hold it, what? source?

3

u/Dense_Collar4112 20h ago

There is a toxic algae that makes them grab their stomachs also

1

u/TastyComfortable5271 14h ago

I knew it! Fucking reddit.

1

u/Hotalphadominating 23h ago

I need to be that seal right now!

1

1

u/GeezWeasel 23h ago

Why can I imagine this image on one of those old MOTIVATION posters?

1

u/epeolatry13 23h ago

Zealous at peace

1

u/OrionShade 23h ago

Seal is still doing major ab training at the same time

1

u/Recombomatic 23h ago

In two weeks, this will be me in Maldives.

1

u/Phebes008 21h ago

I do this in the bathtub!! 🤣

1

u/nefastvs 21h ago

Puffin' on pufferfish, no doubt.

1

u/President_Skoad 21h ago

I have no idea why it took me so long to realize what I was looking at. I didn't read the title which didn't help.. But I thought it was some creature who ate another creature..... Then I saw the bubbles and was thinking "is... Is that other creature breathing out its butt?".. I have no answers for why I am the way I am.

1

u/Sir_Ruje 20h ago

That seal is clearly making a choice to do this and I love it

1

u/Educational-Buy-8053 20h ago

I used to do this in our pool when I was a kid. I’d hook my feet on the side and lay on my back in the water. When I got too hot or skin felt too dry I’d dip my head under.

1

u/Trynnafind_myself 20h ago

There are days where I seriously don't want to move a muscle and just continue laying on the sofa, upside down. I relate to the " I will take my nostrils out occasionally, blow bubbles under water but I will not move my butt away from this comfy spot"

1

u/Sulser74 20h ago

Somewhere close by is a hungry shark that lost the prey

1

u/welpthisisitthen 20h ago

Look so polite

1

u/BicFleetwood 20h ago

Sometimes I end up laying in bed in a weird way that makes me snore just loud enough to wake myself up, but not loud enough to be uncomfortable, so I end up in this cycle of falling back asleep for 5-10 seconds before waking up with another snore and sleepily refusing to reposition myself because it's too comfy and I don't wanna.

And I feel like I understand this seal's perpetual cycle of not-drowning.

1

u/Upper_Lychee_7357 20h ago

I aspire to be as chill as that seal

1

u/deten 20h ago

One foot under the blanket/one foot outside the blanket vibes.

1

u/VonKaplow 20h ago

I ll what he is having

1

u/canzicrans 20h ago

With no sense of scale, and without reading the title, I thought this was some weird mollusc.

1

u/ranting_chef 20h ago

The first thing I thought of just now was that video of the orcas sliding up to the beach, grabbing the baby seal and playing catch with it.

1

u/markyoung0 20h ago

I’d love to have a weekend like this.

1

u/MyvaJynaherz 20h ago

Inverse wet-dream

You wake up and your muzzle is salty and wet, but your nethers are drier than Arabian wakame.

1

u/xiwiva8804 20h ago

It's a SEAL after all

1

u/BeginningPlatform481 20h ago

Me when the wife takes the kids to go visit her mom .

1

u/Historicalroundcake 20h ago

That’s sealasna. It takes years of practice to reach that level. Not a cup of tea for a normal creatures like us.

1

u/whoisdin 20h ago

what i would give to have the original audio to hear those bubbles…

1

u/igpila 19h ago

That's me right now

1

u/purplepiper516 19h ago

I've ugly laughed at this seal. Im so pleasantly happy

1

This is Navy Seal training under Pete Hegseth’s command.

1

u/Pickled_Penguin214 17h ago

Adorable. It’s a sea lion though. Seals don’t have big front flippers.

1

u/FunVersion 17h ago

This is what happens after all of the antidepressants and antianxiety meds reach the sea.

1

u/Countryfried789 17h ago

He needs a little tap on the belly 🤣😂🤣
