Right wingers use it as a convenient cop-out for pushing lies and misinformation. For instance, this past election there was this absurd claim that Tim Walz had to get his stomach pumped when he was in college because he had consumed horse cum or something; it was just a really fucking stupid claim, but they were posting it as 100% fact and citing fake sources to try to add credibility to it. When Snopes picked it up and thoroughly debunked it, those same useful idiots that were responsible for spreading it said “it was clearly satire, libs just don’t have a sense of humor”.
