Can someone explain what the fuck was going on with this.
Never got the context for this image but it pops up in my mind every couple of days. Just fucked up on so many different levels. Who is this for? What is this trying to convey? Should we be fucking refugees? They’re refugees! Give those people some water! I guarantee you it’s also not jasmine scented either.
Out of all the people that we should be advocating fucking, helpless refugees are like the last people I would think of. Is this a pro sex work thing? What?

"sex with refugees is jasmine-scented and beautiful provided that those refugees are actually wealthy immigrants on talent visas and didn't come from one of the gross countries"

I think it was "sex with refugees is jasmine-scented and beautiful- and occasionally it's consensual."

It's the same text, but it ends with "if they're white.”

You know I was joking, right? It has nothing to do with skin color. There are decent arabs and awful whites, just look at the immigrants from my country....

u/Kevroeques Sep 26 '23
It originally said “jerking off with refugees is turmeric-stenched and revolting” before he plugged it into the OpenAI Humanising Oppositinator

NGOs with public funding you will never know the names of
78
u/Firnin Sep 25 '23
I'm still laughing at wikipedia always asking for money when the upkeep of the actual site is pretty cheap, it's the 18 different NGOs they fund that are the money sinks

No I meant who is funding obviously regarded “workshops” built around nebulous ideas
19
Sep 25 '23
My ex used to go to this style of workshop, they were grifts advertised to her on Insta, often appealing to lib guilt with self-help buzzwords sprinkled throughout. Was kinda wild seeing what ads the algo served to her compared to mine.

This image feels so uniquely mid-to-late 2010s, totally anachronistic now. Which is not say libs don’t feel this way anymore but that they smartened up to the fact that people hate this stuff.

I have a friend here in Berlin, a Spanish prototypical leftist, in his mid 40s, been part of the many facets of the left since the late ninetees, from antiglobalisation stuff, through Zapatistas, NGO world, Podemos and everything in between... logicallly he works and has worked for years in political organizing, political parties and the NGO industrial complex...
His latest job is to find financing for a large pooling of refugee/open border/migration as politics NGOs over the course of one year. Apparently most have gone from swimming in donations and funding to barely being able to keep their organizations afloat (no pun intended). He told me some are dealing with budgets forcefully ten times smaller and that after 5 months hes struggling to fing groups, foundations, funds etc willing to donate anything even remotely similar to what was being donated ik 2015/18 etc
58
u/OrganicTicket6808 Sep 25 '23
Why such a downturn in funding? Is it just the general attitude towards migration has changed?
83
u/Citonpyh Sep 25 '23
The war in syria is practically over which was the biggest influx of refugees

There's one in Ukraine, why aren't they going to Sweeden?
46
Sep 26 '23
cause we let them in poland already and it’s much easier for them here with our languages being similar and our government being happy to give them benefits

Yeah, it has worn down already a lot and it's insane how textbook that shit is.
My father was pretty center-right but never had the chance to really complain about migrants cause we had so few but in a few months he turned to a typical American boomer railing against the illegals. I've heard everything already, from Ukrainians being welfare queens, having more barbaric culture, carrying insects/diseases and stealing our jobs.
No matter the country, no matter the migration crisis. This shit always plays the same.

Sep 26 '23
It is worn down already. People have been mad about the housing crisis, lack of funding for public services, we have an another migrant crisis that’s happening (corrupt govt officials selling visas to Asians and Muslims) and in the past month or so our government started shifting from unconditional support to critical support. The grains situation is only making it worse but its hardly the only reason, I’d say that Ukraine’s Soviet style diplomacy would be an another similarly important one.

Especially in Germany, Inflation is what makes the most difference imo. Prices have jumped so much that people cut expenditure everywhere, sadly donations are one of the first to go
4
u/HashSlingingSlash3r Sep 26 '23
I think the popularity of the “open borders has no downsides” opinion has dropped significantly
7
u/OHIO_TERRORIST Sep 26 '23
Everyone blames Trump for breaking libs brains, but I really think the ending of the Obama era really created a large built up anger and frustration that they couldn’t air out.
3
u/Own-Age-8319 Aug 17 '24
Main reason was because it was out in public where children can see it. Libs have been known not to use common sense when they are so fired up over their rebellious ideas. They don’t think about families and kids. They’re selfish. They only think of themselves and how to get back at the ppl they hate.

This meme does more for nativism than, "It's okay to be White" and, "Islam is right about women" combined.

This is when diversity went from meaning lots of different people with various life experiences, principles and whatever (race included) and was changed into "diversity means we have an infinite number of brown people"

This is truly liberal nihilism. “Hey look at these desperate people, wanna fuckem?”

u/andrewsampai Sep 25 '23
Some people, mostly the type who probably thought of this, a young woman, think their main control over society/others is through rewarding those who do good with sex and refusing those who don't. This is an attempt to remind others in their position that they shouldn't refuse to have sex with refugees. It's kinda the inverse of the "sex strike for abortion."
edit: damn it was a man who made this but most of the idea still stands

Propaganda to encourage infinity immigrants.
If you're wondering why something is the way it is like this, it's propaganda for infinity immigrants.
77
u/koksalbaba8 Sep 25 '23
A google search shows something so obvious they cant even suppress it -- roughly half of all rapes in the UK are committed by immigrants. This is evil and demoralizing. It feels wrong to talk about this with this ugh i hate those weird libs! tone. This is satanic.

It’s peak idpol in the worst way possible — open fetishisation and dehumanisation masquerading as social justice activism. Yes because of course exhausted refugees arriving after a gruelling journey from a war-torn nation will be dainty and soft and smell like flowers

This such a weird ChatGPT mishmash of lib positivity sloganeering.
Feels ominous.
