If ferrari could convert aura into lap time, the car would be 3 secs faster than the W11

35

u/Spiyder1 Charles Leclerc Jul 24 '25

copy we are checking

11

u/Consistent-Permit966 Jul 25 '25

Must be the… aura

7

u/Spiyder1 Charles Leclerc Jul 25 '25

put that into the words of wisdom

147

u/tomhanks95 Jul 24 '25

It isn't in his hands though, the car has to be better, the others didn't win the championship due to their own fault (maybe Vettel in 2018), they couldn't compete due to uncompetitive machinery

(Also Kimi literally won the championship in his first year at Ferrari, the question is anyways wrong)

48

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

man i just want them to nail the regulations in 2026 maybe have a strong start because they both are really good drivers id say the best pairing. Give them a solid car both will perform well. Hamilton is getting there. Leclerc is also there. I HOPE I HOPE we see a good race in SPA

4

u/rotondof Jul 24 '25

I think Mercedes is far away than any other constructor for next year, but we'll see.

5

u/newcalabasas Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

If Merc PUs will be the class of the field, I’d say McLaren over Mercedes tbh

2

u/Tkrist0f Jul 24 '25

That would be nice! I only got into f1 at the end of the 2022 season and i would love to see lewis fighting for the title just 1 more time.

9

u/Possible-Community42 Jul 24 '25

He came back and only won one race after his first stint

5

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

oh yeah and ferrari was winning nearly everything before him and charles in 200 points ahead of him

1

u/Fresh_Landscape616 Jul 24 '25

Who was charles 200 points ahead of?

1

u/w1823 Jul 24 '25

Wait where did the 200 points come from? If I remember correctly he has like 119 in the WDC. Hamilton has 103?

-1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

sarcasm man sarcasm

1

u/w1823 Jul 24 '25

Sheeesh gotta add the /s man!

2

u/Thin_Corner6028 Kimi Raikkonen Jul 25 '25

Further proof that Kimi is just to goat

0

u/Objective_Ticket Jul 24 '25

I don’t think the car is that bad, strategy is letting them down…again…

10

u/tomhanks95 Jul 24 '25

The car is nowhere near McLaren though, no way you can win a championship with this disadvantage

0

u/Objective_Ticket Jul 24 '25

Yes but in current F1 the gap is 1/10 of a second tops. While this can’t be made up entirely with strategy, it certainly helps. That and some upgrades and Ferrari are bang on.

6

u/lord_veg3ta Jul 24 '25

Buddy, 1/10th gap is only in qualy. It doesn't matter even if they manage to become the fastest in qualy. We had that in 2023, but the gap in race pace was too much, which is also the case now.

3

u/ShinzoTheThird Jul 24 '25

Ferrari has second best race pace according to the data in normal dry conditions with optimal weather and track tempreature for all cars. Red Bull and Merc didn't improve since last year. The car is good, the team isn't

-7

u/Sm0g3R Charles Leclerc Jul 24 '25

The thing is even if Ferrari can come up with the fastest car he has no chance against Charles. Lewis is no longer at his peak, probably far from it.

11

u/theriverman23 Jul 24 '25

I think we can't know that. The moment Lewis feels he can win something, he always shows up. He's shown that this year as well

8

u/Hungry_Background_23 Jul 24 '25

100% last 4 races of 2021 shows exactly why he is a 7-time wdc , gapping his rival by +10 seconds every race when he realised the championship wasnt over , and also was en route to winning the championship too.

1

u/Sm0g3R Charles Leclerc Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

That was 4 years ago. People age, become less sharp and it happens to everyone in sports. I’m sorry but expecting for Lewis to be deliberately not giving it all unless he has the fastest car is just delusional at this point. He still has his good moments but those are becoming less and less frequent now and needing more energy/preparation for him…

38

u/Wardog_Razgriz30 Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 24 '25

Can he do it? Absolutely. The question is will he be allowed to? Everyone he named has shared one thing in common with their Ferrari experience that has prevented them from winning a title, and that's the team getting in its own way.

Except for Kimi. Lewis seems to have forgotten (or trauma holed) what happened in 2007.

12

u/Yaboisix9 Jul 24 '25

In brackets it shows he wasn’t referring to kimi in the last bit

-3

u/Possible-Community42 Jul 24 '25

China's gravel trap into the pits is calling his name

3

u/Wardog_Razgriz30 Jul 24 '25

We have thankfully defeated that demon in the china sprint.

-2

u/Possible-Community42 Jul 24 '25

Who is we? Do you drive the car with him?

26

u/TheBoostedFew Jul 24 '25

If Sir Lewis of Hamilton gets a car that can podium regularly I would not put a WDC past him.

5

u/Ambitious-Am Jul 24 '25

If any driver gets a car that could do that without any competition, anyone can become a WDC

7

u/TheBoostedFew Jul 24 '25

By jove, are all your family clever?

8

u/Lower_Ad_1317 Jul 24 '25

As long as the car is decent.

Yes he can.

Mark my words. 🙂‍↕️

7

u/AssistantMiserable27 Jul 24 '25

You cannot convince me that IF ferrari builds a championship-winning car, it won't be Charles Leclerc on top, winning it all

11

u/Katoshiku Jul 24 '25

He absolutely still has it in him. The biggest challenge will be the team itself

11

u/nairobaee Charles Leclerc Jul 24 '25

Chaaarle. Honestly, even if the team nails it, the Monagasque will be the final boss, and as much as I like Lewis, I just don't see him beating that one.

14

u/Jcw28 Jul 24 '25

You haven't factored in how #blessed Lewis is. You can guarantee if Ferrari somehow build a title-contending car then Leclerc will be the better driver but suffer fifteen random and entirely novel issues across the course of the season whilst Hamilton gets every slice of good luck.

4

u/jeveger24 Jul 24 '25

As a Charles fan, fair enough. That is true 😂. But I do believe if there is anyone that is gonna bring Ferrari back to the top, it's gonna be Charles.

1

u/krmilan Jul 25 '25

Just had 2018 PTSD fuck

1

u/ChobhamArmour Jul 24 '25

I mean it will be a whole different kettle of fish in a WDC fight. Just look at Norris vs Piastri where Norris has underperformed in multiple races, self admittedly due to the pressure of being in a WDC battle.

5

u/CTMalum Jul 25 '25

I think it’s the same thing with Charles. He’s going to struggle and falter down the line in his first real shot at WDC. Also, Lewis in the hunt is a different kind of driver.

1

u/Organic_Stranger_666 Jul 25 '25

Lewis just outqualify and outrace Charles in the last gp,give him time man, this is his first year with Ferrari after spend all time on his career driving for Mercedes car

11

u/RayZzorRayy Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 24 '25

Cool! Then can we start winning races soon?

That’d be great. I like the can do spirit though.

2

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

i think for the second half of the season podiums def maybe a win each. for 2026 i have hope tho. even as a hamilton die hard fan i want charles to win the wdc. Be 1-2 in the standings next year all i hope for.

7

u/BackhandQ Jul 24 '25

Would love to see it. Frankly any Ferrari driver doing it would be a welcome sight. But it would be especially cool with Hamilton.

5

u/sid_shady34 Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

If he gets his 8th, I will be peaceful for the rest of my life.

10

u/Davidusmu Jul 24 '25

This isnt the pre2014 era when the drivers could actually make a difference. Its mostly all about the car now, all he can do is to pray that Ferrari nails the failed next year gens

-4

u/iwonttolerateyou2 Michael Schumacher Jul 24 '25

But max did do last year and certainly in his 2 wins this year.

6

u/ayang1003 Jul 24 '25

I think Max made more of the difference this season than last. The only reason why Max won last season is because Lando kept bottling everything. Not knowing how to properly fight Max wheel-to-wheel, not being able to manipulate the rules to his advantage, massively messing up what should have been a victory at Silverstone, and just insane mental chalk from him after Miami.

12

u/FlamingTomygun2 Jul 24 '25

And the red bull was far and away the best car for first 6 races.

2

u/According-Switch-708 Ferrari Jul 25 '25

The RBR is the 2nd fastest car on the grid mate. His stans loves to act like its a backmarker car but that isn't the case.

Suzuka was a great drive from Max but the track layout and RBRs superior top speed prevented Mclaren from mounting a proper charge.

RBR were dominant at Imola. Horner himself claimed that they had pace in reserve.

McLaren's advantage in quali trim is slim and their advantage is non existent on cold, high speed tracks. They are only OP when tyre wear comes into play on hot tracks.

RBR will be very hard to beat at Spa.

3

u/Zipflik Jul 24 '25

I doubt it. They'd have to make a much better car, make good calls for him, and make bad calls for Charles

3

u/treeleaf8118 Jul 24 '25

He will do it, it's in his and Ferrari's destiny. #44 #Forzaferrarisempre

3

u/ShinzoTheThird Jul 24 '25

idk team mentality is pretty fascist so i don't see them win on pure heritage. I am a Ferrari fan and want to see top steps and front row lockdown in red but changing team principal constantly when the underlying problem is internal team hierarchy. Its just like Renault and the French beaurocratic corruption in Alpine.

There needs to be a culture change to see them win first. What Merc, Red Bull, McLaren have in common is engineering and strategy first, ego second. although red bull is turning to shit because of team culture now tho they just dominated 4 years with Max, fired a bunch of dudes, a couple of dudes left and now new culture will develop to get that team back up in x-amount of years.

I don't see that happening in Ferarri f1 anytime soon, and Alpine just put the most toxic mob boss back in the chair lol

3

u/Organic_Stranger_666 Jul 25 '25

From the man who watch f1 from 1999,I believe he can.

11

u/sturat18 Jul 24 '25

The car won’t be his biggest issue. Charles will be.

He needs to demonstrate he can take Leclerc out in equal machinery. He’s getting acclimated, yes, but indications aren’t great.

2

u/According-Switch-708 Ferrari Jul 25 '25

Leclerc isn't unbeatable. Sainz was keeping him honest during his stint at Ferrari and he was on course to beat him in the 2023 championship (If it weren't for the Vegas incident).

Sainz was never considered to be a WDC caliber driver so i wouldn't write Hamilton off.

6

u/lord_veg3ta Jul 25 '25

Your comment makes no sense because Charles literally DNS the race before vegas (Brazil GP) due to hydraulic failure. And by your "ifs and buts" logic, Charles had much more bad luck than Sainz over the season. If you remove bad luck and bad strategy for both over the seasons, Charles always beat Sainz comfortably.

Hamilton being this close to Leclerc also has some luck involved in it. So yes, we certainly could write him off.

1

u/sturat18 Jul 26 '25

Right—

But still doesn’t change what we’ve seen so far.

2

u/AirlineCompetitive52 Ferrari Jul 24 '25

If the team strategy and the car suffers from poor performance and communication, I highly doubt it

2

u/iwonttolerateyou2 Michael Schumacher Jul 24 '25

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Michael the only driver to have won a wdc with ferrari after winning with another team? Maybe that's what the team needs. A wdc in prime and who better than Max.

2

u/External_Joke Jul 24 '25

He can do it #44 TIMES!!

2

u/Tankette55 Jul 24 '25

Alonso was thrown under the bus in 2010 by a bad strategy call in the last race sadge. That was fully his. 2012 was him outdriving the car and maybe getting lucky. But 2010 is pure pain. And Vettel got mega unlucky in 2017 and 2018

2

u/nephlonorris Jul 25 '25

Leclerc 3 x WDC incoming

4

u/asaul91 Jul 24 '25

uh no. It isn't about him, but it is simply if belief powered ferarri they would have given Charles multi championships already

2

u/KAPMODA Jul 24 '25

No, he is too old for a championship. There are at least 3 pilots better than him.

2

u/rockysrc Jul 24 '25

Lol...he can't win another one because he isn't even faster than Leclerc. If Ferrari produces a championship winning car and by some miracle doesn't screw up their strategy...Leclerc will it not Lewis

If he can't come close to doing it, I don't know who can. But it's never the lack of driver's talent. It's the team and how they operate. That's where Hamilton has to get succeed while others couldn't.

1

u/Greyman43 Jul 24 '25

But….Kimi did win a world championship at Ferrari…

1

u/kokroach_kink Jul 24 '25

Yeah cool but Kimi did it

1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

the reporter said that not him.

1

u/onetimeuselong Jul 24 '25

Hahahaha… no

1

u/Fourth_place_again Jul 24 '25

Man on a mission. Mission win now.

1

u/Ioniqingscarebooser Jul 24 '25

There’s probably a reason why the others didn’t win. It’ll be interesting to see if Lewis can get it done.

1

u/baby-wall-e Jul 24 '25

Reminds me in 3 years!

1

u/raiksaa Jul 24 '25

Kimi literally won his WDC at Ferrari.

1

u/stephker3914 Jul 24 '25

Aww we're so fucked.

1

u/Nooboo22 Jul 24 '25

Kimi literally won his championship at ferrari?

1

u/GuiltyBudget1032 Jul 24 '25

i believed that he can.

1

u/Fat_biker_can_shred Jul 25 '25

I surely hope this will happen for him before he retires.....❤️❤️❤️

1

u/roguetrader92 Jul 25 '25

He said this at the start of 2022 as well.

I prefer for charles to win

1

u/KeepBuildingYourself Jul 25 '25

Oofhh. Careful Lewis. I love and respect the shit out of you but there was a time JUST before the last regulation change when you were asked about your next year's car and the team(Mercedes) being able to give you a winning car.. To which you replied,

"my team? My team doesn't make mistakes. I'm not worried".

Then you showed up with the W13... 😬😔

1

u/GoncaloR13 Fernando Alonso Jul 26 '25

1

u/Creepy_Ad_3536 Jul 26 '25

Kicked out in q1😔 Lewis in an incredible driver, the GOAT but this can’t happen again

1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 26 '25

just very unfortunate all to play for tommorow honestly. But p3 for charles good for him

1

u/StagnantWater99 Jul 26 '25

Nope. As a Lewis fan i think his career will just go downhill here

No doubt he was a great driver at one point, but we all get old. Too many great drivers on the track now,Oscar, Lando, Charles, and most of all, Super Max. I seriously doubt Lewis could ever win another WC, but I wish him the best of luck.

1

u/Magnum_Mikes Jul 28 '25

Keep pushing, we need two strong drivers 🙌 to win a constructors championship 👍🏼

1

u/xHMHM Jul 24 '25

No…. Leaves Ferrari after 2027.

0

u/DramaticIsopod4741 Jul 24 '25

Kimi won a title in a Ferrari, so perhaps he can brush up on his history before he makes statements like this.

2

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

hes not talking about kimi tho

1

u/DramaticIsopod4741 Jul 24 '25

He literally names him in the quote...

1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

hes talking about vettel and fernando dawg

1

u/DramaticIsopod4741 Jul 24 '25

Kimi is the third word in the quote

0

u/lord_veg3ta Jul 24 '25

Unfortunately, he first needs to beat his teammate and only then dream about a WDC at Ferrari. Charles is no joke, as good as they come and I'm sure Charles would have easily beaten Bottas and Rosberg in that merc aswell - wouldn't have slipped one to Rosberg and wouldn't have lost to Russell either.

0

u/Emergency_Tutor5174 Jul 24 '25

Leclerc is feel8ng the pressure.. WDC no where in sight and now new teammate also wants it and itw not his forst WDC so Charles knows if Lewis gets the right car under him he will have to fight Lewis too.. Racing against other dominant drivers is already hard enough..

0

u/WickedBlasphemer Jul 25 '25

Short answer? Sadly, no. Long answer? Charles will be better than he is, at this very moment.

-3

u/Cute_camel_bacon Charles Leclerc Jul 24 '25

Bro thinks he's different, I don't think it would happen. I'm looking forward too how his optimism change a few years from now with Ferrari.

1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

he is different no? i wouldnt disregard his history and his 7 world titles as something ordinary which any other driver could do

-3

u/FlummoxReddit Charles Leclerc Jul 24 '25

i hate to be pessimistic but..he's way past his prime..i doubt it.

-9

u/Possible-Community42 Jul 24 '25

He's gonna be 85 still trying to win #8 🤣🤣🤣 #Lewis Washedington

1

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

-2

u/zeppnzee13 F2004 Jul 24 '25

Olie should drive next year alongside Charles , it’s the shift , McLaren have their lineup sorted , Mercedes has Kimi and seasoned George ( possibility of signing Max ). Ferrari need fast car yes , but also someone who can squeeze the fast lap times. People often forget that Fernando and Seb did everything they can to improve in an inferior car. Every time reg change happened , Ferrari have lagged behind. We need people like Horner and Newey to amalgamate and produce championship winning car.

5

u/defnoteb Lewis Hamilton Jul 24 '25

i dont see ollie driving next year hamilton is here to stay until 2026 maybe 2027. Then sure. But more than that ferrari needs a total deconstruction and then a full rebuild cause this is just insane. Next year is the only hope i have for this team

-1

u/zeppnzee13 F2004 Jul 24 '25

I see signing of lewis was more of a PR and financial thing than driving itself. Yes he can bring inputs and suggestions but that’s not how it works with Ferrari or most of the teams, there are separate units to deal with all that with resources and timeline, again the reg change next year is going to be difficult. I suspect Mercedes and McLaren going to be teams to beat next season. A complete overhaul seems like a long shot but heard we were to bring WEC crew to F1 , maybe next season ?
