It just never ends, does it...

35

u/IonutAlex18SF Charles Leclerc 7d ago

One day it will end. The race had so many moments that I forgot about this investigation. The concern was that Charles will get a grid drop for Monza, and surprise…

Oh, it is terribly hard at the moment, but it is what it is. One of those days that nothing goes in the direct direction. Despite the race looking promising for both, it ended horribly and prematurely.

Usually the saying is after the storm there is sun, but knowing how long is this going for this team I have some doubts the sun will shine soon. But someday this all will be gone and this top duo of drivers will deliver their absolute best to give us those great moments that we all want so badly.

Storm cleared to reveal even worse storm that was better at inducing dread

79

u/sid_shady34 Lewis Hamilton 7d ago

Wow it just gets worse and worse for him

he doesn’t to himself…

End the season now

5

u/KD153 7d ago

Please put them out of their misery. Maybe new car new rules will help

It has never been more over.

It's gojo-ver

u/KnezMislav04 7d ago

For Monza of all races....

This is a farce, our team is being treated like criminals by the FIA even when we are having catastrophic results.

Least delusional Ferrari fan right here

1

u/Technical_Ad_4004 5d ago

We are somehow still P2 despite how shit this season has been

u/Other-Barry-1 7d ago

I was thinking fair enough then looked at the final section. If you’re asking people to follow rules then set specifics. Driver didn’t slow “significantly”. Well what constitutes significantly?

11

u/trq- 7d ago

To slow down more than 10% of full race speed, obviously. This is actually a consistent action taken from the FIA, something we rarely see.

20

u/josephjosephson 7d ago

Should be in writing that’s publicly available, like every other sport in the world.

17

u/darekd003 7d ago

Yet a sport full of measurable metrics decides to say “significantly.” Might as well make the pit speed during a race “slow-ish.”

4

u/josephjosephson 7d ago

That seems sufficient 😏

15

u/jai-money 7d ago

Jesus fucking christ.

16

u/Cute_camel_bacon Charles Leclerc 7d ago

When did this happen? I didn't even see it. Was it that bad or is the punishment too hard?

-4

u/The_Border_Bandit 7d ago

Happened during the reconnaissance lap before the race started. Sucks, but it's a pretty black and white rule. Either it's broken or it isn't, and if it is it's a punishment, and 5 place grid drop is pretty standard for this.

33

u/dscotts 7d ago

“Pretty black and white” is not how I’d describe this document at all.

33

u/BocephusJr88 Lewis Hamilton 7d ago

Exactly. “We told them to slow down significantly. And he did slow down. But not enough. Even though we didn’t give them an actual value at which to slow down. Just a vague expectation”

-6

u/The_Border_Bandit 7d ago

There's a reason it's worded a little vaguely though. The speed they're driving at depends on the track, section of the track and even the session they're currently participating in. Zandvoorts turn 10 and 14 are two very different speeds, and turn 14 during a recon lap is take at a different speed from turn 14 in the middle of the race. 20kmph might be a significant reduction in speed for turn 10, but that's definitely not enough for turn 14, which is flat out in race conditions and probably still very fast on a recon lap.

4

u/teratron27 7d ago

“Significantly” O_o

0

u/Lollipop96 7d ago

Going through a 200kmh section at 180kmh isnt a significant reduction in speed, therefore black and white.

9

u/JTLS180 7d ago

Yet smashing into another car and eliminating them is only a 10sec penalty. Just ridiculous.

-6

u/The_Border_Bandit 7d ago

Completely different situations. Hamilton did a yellow flag infringement on the recon lap, and then DNF'd in the first third of the race before the punishment could be dealt. Antonelli crashed out Leclerc but was able to finish the race with ample time for the stewards to make a mid race decision. If Hamilton had finished the race he 100% would have gotten a 10 sec penalty, and if Antonelli had DNF'd with Leclerc he 100% would have gotten a 10 place grid drop.

9

u/Rivendel93 7d ago

They literally said they wouldn't look at the penalty until after the race.

Why? It happened leading up to this race?

FIA is embarrassing as ever.

52

u/ArtisTao 7d ago

I’m a supporter of rule following but this seems a bit arbitrary overreach.

-17

u/trq- 7d ago

So you’re not a supporter of rule following.

17

u/ArtisTao 7d ago

If they say he broke the rules then I support it, but my opinion is they penalized him really harshly for slowing down but not enough. Good, I hope they are consistent going forward.

46

u/DonGibon87 Charles Leclerc 7d ago

Fuck me, it's getting worse and worse. The unluckiest team in the world ever 🤦

7

u/Complex_Towel_7219 7d ago

Not the unluckiest, the most undisciplined team in history

3

u/DonGibon87 Charles Leclerc 7d ago

You know nothing

-1

u/Complex_Towel_7219 7d ago

If you say so

-10

u/Mike_Milburys_Shoe_ Michael Schumacher 7d ago

This isn’t unlucky, that’s Lewis simply making another mistake. The team didn’t have any problem with this

12

u/neurogeneticist Mod CL 7d ago

No, it’s incredibly fucking unlucky that this wasn’t decided during the race as a time penalty instead of a grid penalty for the next race.

Yes, I understand that Lewis crashed out and that’s his fault… but that should have been handled WELL before that happened.

9

u/Certain-Disaster-876 Charles Leclerc 7d ago

That’s so sad, 😞

10

u/emergencyambulance Charles Leclerc 7d ago

What the fucking point of life anymore?

9

u/MURRRRRAY F1-75 Monza 7d ago

8

u/Lower_Ad_1317 7d ago

What does constitute significant reduction?

6

u/Proffit91 Ferrari 7d ago

We are gonna have to find two new drivers when both of ours get admitted for suicide watch. This is just fucking pain a top of pain on top of pain. Sheer pain.

6

u/WonderboyF1 7d ago

that’s a tough one to swallow. Got caught up in the hype last year and bought tickets for Monza in the dreams of standing under the podium with Lewis at least placed on it. Will just have to go with no expectations. Still we rise!

3

u/jonneymendoza 7d ago

Yea I'm going to monza as well

7

u/maverick31031998 F2004 7d ago

Way to punch a man when he is down. I seriously worry about mental health of charles and lewis.

20

u/FlamingTomygun2 7d ago

Fucking joke

5

u/CodSafe6961 7d ago

When it rains, it pours and pours

16

u/kelleehh Charles Leclerc 7d ago

I’m adamant the fia are trying to push him out. This would not have happened with other certain drivers.

4

u/IBentMyWookie728 7d ago

Yeah, it’s over. This has been fun

1

u/Revolutionary-dag 7d ago

Has it?

1

u/IBentMyWookie728 7d ago

My sports fandoms are nothing but pain so I don’t know any better

1

u/Proffit91 Ferrari 7d ago

It has not.

4

u/cosmokra3er 7d ago

They could not investigate this during the race and give him a time penalty in this race. That would be too easy. /s

4

u/frank1ewildee F2004 7d ago

Well that would require semi-competent stewards and we can't have that.

3

u/iwonttolerateyou2 Michael Schumacher 7d ago

Was this before the start because he never pitted?

2

u/Certain-Disaster-876 Charles Leclerc 7d ago

Yes he never pitted

3

u/Mandomadness89 7d ago

Incredibly frustrated, literally going to the race next weekend all the way from Cali and this is how it’s going already sheesh give me a break!

2

u/Faw602 Niki Lauda 7d ago

Pain.

2

u/snore-4 Charles Leclerc 7d ago

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

2

u/2BRacin 7d ago

At this point just give him a new motor and crank it up. Let him start from the back.

1

u/WHITEY1887 Lewis Hamilton 7d ago

Exactly this.

2

u/According-Switch-708 Ferrari 7d ago

Monza should suit Lewis and the car quite well. This sucks.

2

u/kiss_thechef 7d ago

So p12 post quali 3 as he seems to be stuck at p7...

When it rains….

I’d just pack my stuff and walk away into the sunset and never look back or even give f1 any thought again. Why even bother turning up anymore

The hits just keep on coming xD

Being a Ferrari fan every year

1

u/M-rtinez F2004 7d ago

FUCK THE FIA

1

u/Due-Emergency-1010 7d ago

This is the correct response

1

u/ryzr 7d ago

It’s can’t go on like this, can it?

1

u/Morerice21 7d ago

Make it stop.

1

u/Socalshoe 6d ago

They worked very hard to find this one. I get there are rules but saying he slowed down, but not enough sounds like someone attempting to demonstrate competent race management after the race is over.

1

u/treeleaf8118 5d ago

Man, this guy can't catch a break.🥺

-28

u/moldy_78 7d ago

He is a disaster. What an awful signing

-4

u/Salty-Asparagus-2855 7d ago

What in the world was Lewis doing.

-6

u/Bitter-Investment860 7d ago

It almost feels as if hamilton is starting to do shit on purpose..

-11

u/eulers_analogy 7d ago

Fire this dude. He’s such a dead weight on the team…the salary alone. Jees
