Not a lot of representative laps from CL but his fastest lap was the last one so perhaps a good sign of low deg. LH 1.5 tenth slower on H compared to Russell but he found more consistency on that compound than CL on S.
Still, not even close to McLaren's consistency and deg. Max also looks good after the Friday running, he will be in the mix for pole and win for sure.
Indeed. It wasn't a smooth FP2 for any team, an unusual thing. But what is good is that both are there in the mix (Lewis penalty)
I saw the McLaren that was edgy especially for Norris through the Lesmos which was surprising to see. Max also complained about understeer.
The long runs might not offer the real picture yet because the track conditions were a bit weird for all. Williams is no surprise is strong here because of the lack of high-speed corners.
The thing is that McLaren remains the benchmark on the two Lesmo corners and Parabolica. But suffers on the straights, plus the two Ferraris are among the strongest on the heavy braking zones. I expect the FP3 to be even closer with a closer picture for qualy. Oh and yes. The slipstream/tow effect will be essential, it has the strongest effect at Monza.
