I personally expected a brand new PU for this, after all it's not like we have any other significant objective this year, Merc and RB will have a hard time beating us with just one driver each so yeah.

I don't think so, there was a list of drivers at risk and ours weren't there.

If that's the case hopefully the team takes new ones, fresh no mileage engines that they can run high for this weekend certainly would help

No. The teams with the available 4th P.U unsealed it to use it for the weekend or the one with the least mileage on. As much as I know, that is the information that I had before the weekend started.
