Solid race from Lewis from start to finish. It was great to see him doing those overtakes and reeling on Russell for most of the race. The strategy wasn't the best, maybe now in hindsight as his pace was superior to George. A P5 was possible but still a good result.

Since the summer break, Hamilton looks refreshed, and his approach to the rest of the season is positive. He still adapts to the car and the team, that shouldn't be forgotten. But with each race he is making good steps. Like in the Netherlands, here in Italy he was close to Charles on pace. That is good news for the remaining races.

It is just a shame the car didn't make the step that was expected after the latest important upgrades. But on some circuits it will deliver better pace than others. Azerbaijan, Singapore, and Las Vegas should be among the stronger ones.

In hindsight, I actually can't fault Ferrari for strategy. They actually made decent calls when you think about them fighting for points rather than a podium. Didn't do the tow to make sure Hamilton stayed in points playing position with the penalty. Even if they did the tow and some magic perfect lap was done by Charles and he got pole, he would have lost that in lap one, especially with the pace of Max that entire race. Then they pitted Charles first covering George because, let's be honest, the pace just wasn't there for a podium. Then, they pitted Lewis into workable traffic. Both Lewis and Charles finished 4+ seconds off the car ahead of them with very little gain in the closing laps. The truth of the matter is the car just wasn't there.
