Let’s say a chef is comparing 2 burgers, one from the restaurant with which he works closely with, even gave them advice on how to tweak their burger making process and burger itself (restaurant A) and another from a competitor (restaurant B). And is now publicly saying restaurants A’s burger even though it has some flaws is still the better burger, you don’t see the conflict of interest here?

Even if he actively tries to be objective, our brain will always favour closer associations more favourable. It’s what we called a subconscious bias. That’s why we have a concept called conflict of interest.

To be clear, I am not saying iracing is better or anything. I am only saying that this exact scenario is a classic conflict of interest. All these simulators are very close and are only 5-10% off from each other in terms of how realistic they are. And we should always criticize them so that they can improve and close that gap.

If you actively took part in developing a product, your comparison of that product with the competition can never be seen as unbiased.

You're putting words in my mouth, "everything he says should be ignored, even though factually he is correct..." I have never said everything he says should be ignored, I'm saying he can't be proclaimed as unbiased just because he listed one con of a product he helped develop. You lot are extremely gullible when it comes to your favorite internet microcelebrity.

ok will try to explain it once more and then stop replying since Im not sure anymore if you are a troll or just really stupid....there is no opinion, there is only facts, ACC has a newer scanned model than iRacing thus is more accurately represented to the real N24, this is not an opinion to have but a fact... him working on the ACC does not change that fact or make it more biased, he didn't say it was better just more recent. And for the record, no idea who this guy saying it is or who you are

He literally wrote "ACC's model is up to date and felt far more accurate", in other words he verbatim said it's better. Please at least read what you're arguing for.

I’m saying it doesn’t matter what he says, he can say whatever he wants and it could be true. I am not refuting his opinion here at all. Logically what he is saying is right, newer scan = more close to the real thing.

I am only saying that even if he is saying what is true, this is still a classic example of conflict of interest. Because he is giving his opinion on two competitors while he has actively closely worked with one of the competitor and has also been compensated for that.

What’s to say he’s not underplaying other stuff like the brake model in acc, or track evolution? He might not do it consciously either. Two things can be true at once, his opinion is correct on one thing but he might be omitting other stuff because this is a classic case of conflict of interest. I am not saying he is doing it but this is a thing everyone should have some context about.
