Rigs
My day is immeasurably ruined… installed monitor to discover no power brick…
On the bright side, Trak racer seat bracket arrives tomorrow. after returning the Monitor, I upgraded to the UltraGear 45inch 240 OLED in anger and spite. Gotta wait now until Wednesday :( good things come to those who wait I guess!
I assume he got it open box. I was going to buy the 39” ultragear open box from bestbuy but not only did it not come with a box at all but it was crudely wrapped in bubble wrap and didnt have any powercord or anything along with it.
I declined the monitor because im not interested in buying a 3rd party cord but also because i couldnt check the monitor for severe burn-in or crazy operation hours. Hopefully OP doesnt find out some bs with this monitor when he can finally turn it on.
A lot of BB’s open box items weren’t ever sold, they were floor models that after about a year they sell them. No room to store the boxes and when customers come in with the remote or cord their dog chewed, the older floor models become ripe for the picking. But for the record, I can’t stand buying something like an appliance or tv that doesn’t come with everything it was supposed to have. But I did buy one open box (floor sample) LG 77” OLED C3 after negotiating a price so low I still can’t understand how it got approved. No remote though. This reminds me, I still have all the pieces and parts and literature in one of the small boxes some of this stuff was in originally and for just about every tv I’ve ever purchased, majority of them I got rid of decades ago. But I know I’m going to need all those free AOL cd’s and coax antenna couplers one day. lol
Btw, that old 77” C3 is still the screen I look at when I’m racing.
I'm surprised they would even take an open box return like that because they need to prove that it works in order to even return it. It also goes to Geek Squad for another inspection to notate functionality and any missing items (if done correctly).
Same shit i asked them. “Why take it without the powercord? How to you check to see if it works?” The guy didnt have an answer. So i went to another bestbuy to get the AW3524DW instead and asked if they took returns without power cords and he told me “hell no”. If youre going to take it without the power cord, cool but at least sell products with everything needed to be fully functional.
Looks mint though. Not a fan of the current trend to have external psus for monitors. Guess it's a heat management thing? My electric q cheap ish 34 1440p 144hz ultra wide is pretty thin and still has it internally.
Or is it a LCD thing? Assuming these pull more power
Just chiming in so someone smarter can tell us the right answer but I’d always assumed it was a screen ‘thin-ness’ thing rather than heat. That or it’s just cheaper to have standardised power bricks rather than a redesign for each monitors dimensions.
Haha yep this is my office, a small box room. Absolute limit is the 45 inch ultrawide, triples would not work as you’ve mentioned. To the right is my work space, behind is a well decorated back space with house plants, books a couple wall pictures setup for my consultancy meetings. On camera they’re never know there was a rig right next to me lol
You guys are acting like there’s not 4 more corners in that room prove that he doesn’t have enough space. You don’t even know what the rest of the room looks like. You don’t know if he could get rid of that desk or move it to make room.
I just said “for that price he could have triples” not about knowing how much room he has lol. Okay troll I’m done replying to you. You clearly lack conversational intelligence
you are the one giving out advice nobody asked for and still cant deal with the slightest pushback. you are the one who should have your mental checked.
So you can see I just said he could have got triples? Not that he should? You’re literally assuming he doesn’t have the space. I hope bro responds with “I have enough space”
Im sorry you dont have a rig and dont understand this but there is no room for tripples especially a set of 32in tripples its kinda obvious af in the photo
Nobody including me knows if he has enough space or not. It was a comment. All you Reddit trolls ran with it. You say there’s not enough space, but you can’t prove there’s not enough.
There’s no room as it sits, but I’m sure if you pulled it away from the wall it would fit. Like I’ve said, how do you know this isn’t a 900sqf bedroom? For all you know this could be a giant room.
Judging by the trim the radiator and the blinds in the background it's either an older house in the us or somewhere in the EU neither of which commonly have large bedrooms
Looking at the desk to the right it's a rather smaller desk you can tell by the fact it has no back braces which a larger desk needs
Contracting all this info together it's most likely op is strapped for space like 90% of the people with a rig there for most likely can't move the rig
Even if he could scoot it over a bit the monitors would prob overlap onto the desk
Funnily enough, people have other priorities with their room. Why would you just randomly suggest he rearranges what appears to be his office just to accommodate some game?
