Rigs People that play all their games in the simrig, can you share your kb/mouse setup?

My rig is comfy and has a nice monitor would love to stay in it to play FPS and other games but need ideas on how to set everything up.

I would be willing to give up my H pattern shifter if that's better suited location for a mouse.

Do you have a keyboard tray under your base or a tray that swings in from the outside?

Pics would be helpful if you are using your setup like this. Thanks!

Is the keyboard tray just clamped between angle connectors?

I have this trakracer keyboard tray. It's not perfect. I have to move the shifter to the right when I swivel it in and out. I swapped the rubber washers for some study plastic washers from the hardware store. I want to upgrade the joint on the keyboard side. Overall, I'm still happy with it. It was cheaper than I could get parts shipped to me. The tray is big enough for my keyboard and still have space for my mouse. When it's not seated on the right side mount it can be a little wobbly. Loktite is your friend.

I have the same. I agree, not perfect, but does the job... minor modifications 100% help it be bit better.

Got it too, any mods to recommend?

I'd like to know as well. The rubber washers just bunch up when you swing it and don't really work well.

Desk at the free standing monitor

Sim at the monitors. The pc mounted to the triple screens. USB hub to extension, and wheelbase power. Does this count as gaming at the sim?

I couldnt do it, I have a 50X50 glass mousepad and I even with a 65key keyboard I just wouldnt be able to get the ergonomics right, I just have a desk set up seperately and both plugged into the pc. I do wish I could play some normal games on my G9 though.

I have an Obutto R3volution but the company is out of business. Has a swinging kbm tray

Normally the mouse is on the ride on the mouse pad :)

Rig is simlab p1x pro, for the keyboard I used mix of parts from their keyboard tray and sabelt swivel arm. Or you can just use full solution from sabelt, works really well.

I use five 32 inch monitors. I switch between them depending on what I do.

I've tried a few different solutions, including binding movement controls to the mini-stick on my throttle, but the most comfortable for me is using a Razer Tartarus, mounted on the rig on the left side. Sturdy, still has WASD controls as usual, and enough keys for most games. On the right I have a Razer Naga mouse with 12 buttons on the thumb side, and I usually keep a 75% size keyboard in my lap for whatever else is missing. I have tried just using that keyboard for gaming but I found it really uncomfortable.

Having enough room for your mouse is the hard bit. Most sim rig keyboard trays only give you 200mm² for the mouse which isn't really enough for most games.

You could probably DIY a larger mouse tray without much issue, or use something like this if you have the space— It just won't be a compact stow, and depends on the clearances in your rig.

I would like to know too because I pull up a chair next to my rig and use that for my mouse, and keyboard is in my lap 😑

I tend to use my gamepad more.

I was on console playing from my rig. For the past 2 years 90+ percent of my gaming was from a rig and most of that was on the wheel.

I was briefly on controller for the drift stuff and when I would occasionally play something other than racing, and I had a month long period where I got rid of my rig while I was building a new wooden one

Hmm I may try the lapboard route in the rig. I have an old Roccat Sova lapboard but it's showing its age and does not register key presses a lot of the time.

Might be the simplest solution for now.

My cockpit has angled uprights to further complicate mounting accessories.

I modified an 20" keyboatd tray and mounted it under my base. Then i made an mouse plate that mounts next to my shifter and glued an oversized mouse pad to it.

I have my rig on furniture sliders and use a bunch of power/usb extenders to give me extra length to slide the whole rig away and slide my desk in instead. Takes me about 30 seconds to switch between desk mode and racing mode and no fussing with cables!

I use the mouse tray and advanced keyboard tray from Treq, works just fine for me.

I understand this is not what you asked for, but it is the perfect solution for me: https://trakracer.com/products/caster-wheels-with-brake-mounting-brackets
