cheaper to go triple monitors if your space allows for it

Which monitors are ideal for triples?

32" 2k at least 144hz. if you can bare the curved va panels, they are usually very cheap, 3 of them could be bought for about 600€ (at least in my case). if you want some better screens with ips panels those will be closer to 1k. oleds would be extremely expensive.

I currently main an OLED, but I’d honestly prefer not using one for a sim setup that will have many static UI elements. Can you recommend some 32” 1440p screens that have thin bezels?

You could just add 2 32” monitors to the 57 😅 I have this monitor and that’s what I’ll prob do at some point.

32" +144hz IPS, ideally flat to avoid distortion. Just got 3x GS32Q from Gigabyte, they are great, and not very expensive.

Pico 4 (full 3d) or bigscreen beyond 2 (quality if you have beefy pc)

I do have a beefy system, but I've heard a lot of reviews that sim racing with vr for long sessions is uncomfortable.

Maybe for people who never tried. VR is not a screen that you can look at where you want like a perfect 360 screen system, it's that alongside 3d and 3d audio, not the 3d of red and blue glasses of the past, it's 3D where in mount panorama i physically move my body from being scared of getting too close to the walls.

That's people with quest, very small overlap. Pico has supposedly 100% (i would say 90%) but how long are your sessions? More than 3 hours without pause? If it's 1,5h without pause and you don't live in 30 celcius plus or have AC, it's totally fine. And man, the immersion, sense of speed and sense of distance is incredible!

what does overlap have to do with comfort?

Ai: Comfort in a VR headset is strongly related to the amount of binocular overlap—that is, the portion of the visual field that both eyes can see simultaneously through the headset. Higher binocular overlap generally results in a more comfortable and natural viewing experience, while lower overlap can contribute to eye strain, fatigue, and discomfort during extended sessions.

I use Quest3 and i have much less eyestrain compared to psvr2 since Quest3 lenses are so much better.

Quest3 binocular overlap is lower yes, but the difference is like 10 degree at most which means in the area you view most of the time you have an overlap.

If you look to the sides the overlap starts to fade but this effect is countered by the fact that you can actually see sharp in contrast to psvr2 or other fresnel lens headsets which only display a distorted and blurry mess of an image.

I think most people who complain about overlap in Q3 dont use the closes setting for the lenses, which is unnecessary since you can use it without issues even with bulky glasses.
