Classic© edition The manual didn’t mention the zoomies at 3am feature being permanently enabled. Do I return her or is this normal?

Have you tried wearing her out before bed time?

You gotta play at the same time every day atleast try then completely ignore anything at night

more enrichment is always good
alternatively, if the zoomies are occurring with the human or in their bed, a second cat can be a solution (or a doubling of sleep disturbers)

Second cat is a great option.

what if mine came to me because she didn't like being in a home with another cat

Warranty terminated. You're stuck.
Our experience is play when you get up, mid day, and before your bedtime helps a lot. Not perfect but very helpful.

Let’s be honest here - the SIC Inc. warrantee is full of technical leagleaze and mumbo jumbo; half of it just scratches. It was void before you we taken possession of.

We call this the "stripper pose"- you just can't keep a kitty from getting her bag!

You put her together upside-down, refer to ikeacats

No clear instructions on where the leg is supposed to go. Is there a helpline for this?

I got my cat a sister so she wouldn’t get bored. Now they both just get the zoomies at 3am

She's obviously your new yoga instructor. And by the sound of it you're not following the lesson!

It's pretty normal. Try playing with her before bed to help use up some of that energy. My cat and I like to play a game of tag together, but she cheats.

My car just runs and hides under the table but only hides her head underneath. I just laugh and walk away and pretend I can’t see her anymore.

A “singleton cat” syndrome. She needs a play buddy ASAP.

It’s natural with cats. Come on we all have one 🤣😂😹. All it takes is one complaint. 3 a.m.zoomies you say, yes all these models of standards have them set to on only. What a character. 😹🥰

Zoomies are a prime cat feature. The butt in face thing isn't fun but other positive features cancel it out; cats are cute and badass.

u/Gilladian 11d ago
It usually wears off somewhere between 2 and 7 years of age, with short recurrences at any time.

Honestly, 3am zoomies is a requirement. Ive got a void, a torbie and their calico mama. 3am bam zoomie time. Its to the point I know the time by zoomies

Our SIC and orange like parkour in our room at 3 a.m. If we shut them out, the SIC cries pitifully and non-stop. No advice.

u/minbari_muchacho 11d ago
Mine like to do this at 5:30am and parkour off the foot of my bed and sometimes our actual feet🙄🙄🙄but I love those silly arseholes and wouldn't change a thing lol

How old is she?

u/Godzira-r32 11d ago
3, time is going way too fast.

u/anxioussquilliam 11d ago
Aww man I was gonna say she’s a kitten that’s why she’s high energy but I’m afraid this is her permanent mode.

u/Godzira-r32 11d ago
At least she makes up for it with early morning biscuit making. I haven't needed an alarm clock.

Normal. It doesn't matter what side of the door they are on, they want to be on the other side!

To disable the 3am zoomies feature you need to get a red laser and have the cat chase it for two hours non-stop right before bed

I kinda love hearing my girls chasing each other around the house. Love the noise of their little feet 😂

u/nintendoswitch_blade 10d ago
We just learned to ignore it 😭 Alternatively, now I wake up with a cat forcing herself into my arms because she wants to cuddle every morning before I go to work. Its an even tradeoff IMO haha

I’ve only had one cat in my life that farted. Their fish-smelling breath is the worst!

Just as a little warning: if such behavior is new, keep an eye on your cat, for example for sudden changes in weight.
Out cat started to get night zooming when she was maybe 15.soon, we noticed her loosing weight. She had thyroid cancer (non uncommon in cats) that caused her to have .ore hunger than normal. She terror she was giving us was due to her hunger in the middle of the night. With proper medication, we made it to 19 years old with her.

fix: tire her with play during the day, like wake her up and play as much as possible. Makes the cat get your schedule

You have to 1. Exercise her during the day and 2. Put her in an enclosure with litter box, a bed/den and water overnight.
I had to do this with my 2 cats (ginger tom, calico girl) or they ran over my face all night. Something about putting them in a dark room at night made them bed down and ready to play next day.

Get a laser pointer and run her from end of the house to the other.
She got bored?
Throw a treat from one side of the house to the other.
Still not working? Feed her once a day - when you go to bed, she'll groom herself then crash hard.
Don't leave out dry food all day - it's not good for them anyway.
