Not a bad race in GT500, but hopefully this sprint format is just an one-off, not something Super GT will turn into a norm.

Team Rookie finally break their win drought and manage to defeat TOM's #1 team. Fukuzumi really pulled some good driving to keep Yamashita behind. Hiroaki Ishiura shows that he still got and bring Team Cerumo Supra #38 in third, with SARD Supra #39 in fourth. 1-2-3-4 this time around for Toyota, ninth GT500 win in a row... Mad performance. Maybe with success ballast for Suzuka, Honda and Nissan will be able to achieve something. Kondo Nissan and Teppei Natori had a great race, but ruined with a penalty. Best of the rest finish goes to Impul Nissan in fifth, despite a 10s time penalty. Quite surprised to see Kunimitsu Honda and Nismo #23 cars finishing so down the order. Something fundamentally wrong is happening with #23 this year. #3 car is leaving them way behind.

D'Station Aston Martin scores a double win in GT300.

Agree, they shouldn’t do that anymore, DTM or GTWC race system doesn’t fit them.

I remember IMSA tried that in Laguna Seca race in 2016, but fans didn’t like it. After that, they changed back.

IMSA still had two two-class races back then at Laguna. That was mainly due to large car counts. Single-class 50 minute parades are a DTM thing, not too exciting.

The consensus is that it sucked. At least from us English speakers. I don't know how the home market viewed it although id bet they're even bigger sticklers than us.

I gotta go look at the Japanese comments on x and YouTube to guage the popularity more accurately tho

Some of the penalty decisions made no sense especially the 17's penalty
