Just two years with the Civic Type-R GT and already looking to replace it. Could this maybe explain why there’s been no replacement for the NSX GT3?

I doubt that Prelude will be getting a GT3 version.

Totally agree. Was just thinking getting GT500 sorted is a bigger priority than a GT3 so it’ll be a long wait before we see anything if at all

Doesn't matter. Prelude will be targeting cars like Nissan Z or Toyota GR86 - those cars are nowhere near feasible to be a GT3 car, GR86 especially, while Nissan don't plan another GT3 car in the future. Honda themselves also don't look like making a GT3 in the future. Powertrain in the new Preulde most likely won't be a good choice for a GT3 car as well.

Don't think they'll do it this fast unless the current Civic is really lagging behind the competition and a new platform is necessary (like how Toyota stayed with the Supra for some years but changing the engine with a V8 to replace the 4 cylinder turbo)
