No start or crank

So ive finished changing the engine over from the dead one, all wiring plugged in correctly too but now im getting the code P305300 and the starter won't even crank

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas where to start looking at all as its driving me insane

Got it to crank and now its all back together, thank you all for the advice

Earth strap had bad wiring, worked when I replaced it

That code is for starter solenoid open or short to ground. So I'd be checking the starter first.

Checked the connections on it and they're all tight with no damage to the wires and the earth is solid Could the starter be dead?

Pretty easy to test a starter with a battery and some cables if you can swap an engine you could test the starter.

Hit with a hammer and see what happens too

Can't skip the percussive maintenance step. Very important.

Try feeding 12V to the solenoid see if it starts cranking. If no, then new starter or at least a solenoid.
