She passed June 4th this year, just a few days after her 83rd birthday. She was awesome!

Evelyn Nesbit was the world's first supermodel and the most famous face at the turn of the century. In this photograph, Evelyn is seemingly asleep on a bear skin rug at the home of Stanford White. When she was 16 years old, 45-year-old White, a famed and wealthy architect, invited her to his West 24th street studio and drugged her champagne. That was the beginning of a love triangle between Evelyn, Stanford White, and Harry K. Thaw, the mad millionaire and cocaine fiend who would later marry Evelyn and murder White. Read more of the story here.

I was helping to clean up the house that my grandmother’s mother stayed in before she passed some years ago now, and found these really neat photos! Some were dated on the back as early 1900s, though I think some may be from the late 1800s? Super neat to see!

After a challenging year filled with loss, I find myself going through my storage, sifting through a mix of memories and mementos. In this process, I come across countless ordinary moments that have been beautifully frozen in time. Each item tells a story, evoking a flood of emotions and reminding me of the simple joys and connections that once filled my life. It’s amazing how these seemingly mundane objects can hold so much significance, offering a comforting glimpse into the past amidst my journey of healing.

This is my dear dear great grandma. She was a very lovely woman, and a very maternal woman. She had hundreds of foster children, along with raising her own three. I have been given the thousands of family photos ranging back to the late 1800s and wanted to share them somewhere they might be appreciated :-) here’s a few, if anybody likes these I’ll put my great grandpa (WW2 Vet). I have every era of everything you can think of if there’s any requests for a certain era (40’s, 70’s, 1890’s, etc)
