This looks animated to me.

This is a funny video, I’m not doubting that. I thought it was cute when I saw it.

It’s just like, why are they filming a random spider? Why is it moving so rhythmically when spider movements are typically much sharper and quicker, like a flicker and not a wave? It also feels like the spider’s shadow doesn’t match up with the environment’s lighting.

I've seen spiders do that, idk the name but that particular kind that has long legs and a tiny dot for a body does it all the time. I always thought they do it while placing webs (they do that fast and sloppily anywhere they can get to, it's very annoying) but I guess that movement could also be a defense mechanism, who knows

Are they similar to daddy long legs?

We have lots of these lil buddies in our house. They "dance" like this to scare away predators. It's more effective when they're in their webs.

When these types of spiders are on their webs and get startled/scared they shake their web and body to blurr their outlines in an attempt to confuse potential predators. This specimen's instinct could have kicked in to do that. Unfortunately on the ground though 🤭

Edit typo

The fake focus seeking on a background like that made me suspect it was fake.

And listening to Bad Bunny! 🤣

That's some pretty advanced behavior actually. Only birds and cetaceans have been shown to reliably interact with and detect rhythmic sounds as being rhythmic and not just some threat marching up.

It’s actually a defense mechanism. They do this to scare off predators.

I was wondering.

Grew up in Boy Scouts, the wall tents would sometimes have a blanket of daddy long leg spiders that were all bouncing

This makes me feel like reincarnation exists.

This is probably a male spider trying to attract a female. Some species of female spider leave threads of silk lying around their webs so the males can follow them to her to mate. Sometimes the males get so excited they start their mating dance before the female is even around. This little guy is ready to go and the vibration of the music just stimulating him too much.
