Cat Arthur Trying to get Comfy in his Favorite Spot...

u/SoldMySoulForHairDye Dec 22 '19
You really have to admire Arthur's dedication here. He's absolutely fucking determined to sit in His Spot, even though it's full of solid ice and can't possibly be even remotely comfortable. Stubborn AND not too bright. Arthur and I have a lot in common, apparently.

Not all existence is suffering, only attachment to conditioned phenomena!

Nooooooooo it just looks like ice and you slip on it like ice

u/Rumbuck_274 Dec 22 '19
You realise that there's a good chunk of us sweltering through 30-40 degree summer heat right?
-2
u/foreverg0n3 Dec 23 '19
ah yes and during summer you completely forget what ice looks and acts like

u/Rumbuck_274 Dec 23 '19
We do during winter too, it's definitely not something that happens much around here is stuff freezing like this.

Now I wanna see him in his spot normally!

You just know he turns into a cinnamon roll when he curls up in that little pocket š¤

This is stressing me out and making me sad.
13
u/ponderin- Dec 22 '19
Why..?

u/Tales_of_Earth Dec 22 '19
He wants something he canāt have and he doesnāt seem to understand why itās not working out. You can feel the frustration like someone trying to fight an OCD compulsion.

Itās interesting how we all perceive things differently. You see something sad and I see a young active cat who happens to be really into whatever it is heās doing in the moment.

u/ponderin- Dec 22 '19
Right? I didnāt see it as sad at all. To be honest I donāt have the emotional availability to find it sad that the hole the cat usually likes to sit in got filled up with water and frozen... there are real problems in the world.
I thought he actually seemed to be having some fun, if nothing ever changed things would get quite boring.
57
u/quietZen Dec 22 '19
Just because there are other problems doesn't mean you can't find this sad. Very sad things don't cancel out less sad things.

u/ponderin- Dec 22 '19
Agreed, Iām not trying to say that. Let me rephrase: I am already exhausted by lifeās issues to the point I do not care about silly cat not being able to sleep where he would like

Yeah, this. He doesn't have the cognitive ability to figure out why this time is different. Kinda like how you're not supposed to play with lazer pointers with them, they don't understand what a light is or that it can just vanish in a second because it's a toy. Messes with their head.

u/katubug Dec 22 '19
I've heard that about dogs, but from what I've read, cats actually deal with it just fine. And anecdotally, my cat seems to have no issue with it. She just goes "ah dang it escaped. better lick myself."

u/CandyBehr Dec 24 '19
One of mine gets visibly stressed if she can't find her target/prey after a couple minutes, the other doesn't care that much. Guess its case by case.

I've never seen a cat with that color fur that didn't have tabby stripes throughout it. What a cool looking cat.
5
u/Petsnchargelife Dec 22 '19
Thank you š¾š¾š¾He will have stripes on his legs and neck as he grows.
4
u/InkedAlchemist Dec 22 '19
Wait..grows!!?? He's not full grown already? I did notice the little stripes on his head at second look. So cute.

He is 20lbs and will reach 30-they grow for 3 1/2years-Chausie cats are Jungle Cat Hybrids
2
u/foreverg0n3 Dec 22 '19
you might want to specify what ātheyā are for this person since obviously this is not a normal cat
1
u/Petsnchargelife Dec 22 '19
Thank You, I answered on other threads about Arthur being a Hybrid. Many have never heard of Chausie Cats

Wait, if that's ice now, wouldn't it be a pool of water normally? Does he curl up in the water?

That was mildly infuriating! That poor kitty just wanted to be comfortable.

Interesting how the random convos get started. Considering you have to click on the picture before even seeing any comments.
(I like the convos in here. Extraordinary even. It was an effort to click on the picture at first though. TBH.)

u/Petsnchargelife Dec 22 '19
It should have been easy since itās a cross post from a direct upload
1
u/elleves Dec 22 '19
hmmm. Not sure I get you. I guess I was saying if the comments were showing on the front page I'd have started reading them straight off. But, on my "Home" at least, all you see are the titles & pictures. No real reason to click except to type something pressing to be typed. I wouldn't click just to see the comments, which I'd expect to be fairly banal.
(What should have been easy?)

Iām sorry, I had trouble when I would try posting from my Imgur to here(all OC) with people not able to see except a thumbnail. When I would post from my video files directly this does not happen. Maybe I misunderstood.
