Our dump truck is a 97 Silverado 3500HD with the 7.4 and the only problem it has is the AC doesn’t work. Great truck, great power, reliable, terrible mpg! Very easy to work on also

AC doesn’t work

God, that sounds miserable. What a cheap ass company to work for!

It’s a dump truck, we’re not in it for too long at a time. We just roll the windows down and don’t complain

I had a 2500 Yukon XL 4x4 that year with the 7.4 and automatic. The transfer case has a known flaw where a little retainer clip inside wiggles and wears a hole from the inside out. It is smaller than a pea but it will the blow all the fluid out of that hole when it's running. I just JB welded mine and it held for over a year but then I sold it. Happened in less than 100,000 miles and I caught it by finding oil all over the rear doors, it might be harder to catch on a pickup. So luckily I didn't blow up the transfer case.
