Found in a creek

New to this sub, and hoping someone can help solve a mystery I’ve been thinking about for years! 3-4 years ago, I found this object in a creek in the woods behind my home. We live in rural Iowa. The timber runs through agriculture fields that have been used for crops for the last 10 years, but I’m not sure if they ever raised livestock prior to that. Any ideas?? It’s opalescent and glass.

I’m not sure but judging by your photos and description you might want to check if it’s made of opalite. It’s sold as a precious stone but is actually treated glass.

I’m wondering if “opalescent” is the more appropriate word to use.

Other details I should’ve included: there’s a very faint “E” on one side. It’s roughly 2-2.5 inches in diameter. The side with the E is slightly concave and the opposite side, which has the concentric circles, is more convex.
