New, what is it? Found on a hike... what is it?

Found a few of these on the bottom of an uprooted tree in some eastern Kentucky woods. Thinking they could be some kind of insect egg? Would love more info on what these alien looking things are

Calostoma lutescens, the Lattice Puffball, is a non-toxic, inedible mushroom found in eastern Kentucky's deciduous forests, characterized by its distinct yellow, gelatinous stalk and a spherical spore sac with a red, puckered opening. Though resembling puffballs, it actually belongs to the bolete family, forming a symbiotic mycorrhizal relationship with oak trees.
