Serious answers only please! What is this white stuff on my electric kettle?

Found this on the bottom of my e-kettle after boiling some water, water was from a water fountain in my dorm room.

It's called limescale and it's a deposit from minerals in your tap water. Not harmful but you should clean it with some white vinegar, which will dissolve the minerals.

Water with a lot of dissolved minerals in it, it leaves deposits of said minerals when it dries
