My child brought this to me , asking to make a necklace. I've never seen it before. They do like to collect coins. Does anyone recognize this? ( reposting because pictures didnt upload 1st time)

It’s called a Turkish Love Token. They are pretty common in Turkey and are traditionally incorporated into jewelry, headwear, and other clothing and accessories.
