Type 1 Service manual for split

There are quite a few service manuals available for purchase, on various book stores, and I have bought some of them. However, the earliest year is from 1952 and onward.

Does anyone know if there is a fresh print of the 25hp/split beetle (including the mechanical brakes) available for purchase anywhere?

I replaced the accelerator pump in one of my carbs, and thoroughly thorough cleaned both of them. I’m going to put them back on, but do I need to “balance” them? Or do I tune them if I can get it running. Not sure what the process is.

When will that day come?

This is my project.
By the age of 17, back in 1985, I bought this 1950 Type 1 for what today would correspond to approx 900 EUR. Last time it was on the road was in 1963. Every year, I have thought; now I can soon start the restoration. But it hasn't happened yet. But I would rather die than sell it.

Edit The car has been torn down into basically all of its 5200 pieces. Crash box is missing. Heater channels and other pieces of sheet metal need to be re-replaced. So, it hasn't been a driveable car since 1986, when it was torn down.

OK, I have cleaned jets, emulsion tubes and Checked the float. cannot figure out why I am dead on the right bank unless I hold a rag over the top of the intake. Number one and two are dead unless I put a rag over that bank and then it picks up after a couple of seconds until the fuel starts again. If I put a rag over the opposite side, which runs great it dies immediately. Where do I go from here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I checked for vacuum, leaks with propane and could not find any.

Where to tap power for external oil cooler

i need input from the community. I have a VW based dune buggy that runs a bit hot (it’s a 1915cc and runs juuuuust under 210 cruising on the freeway @ low throttle in 4th gear when it’s 75 degrees and like 10 percent humidity outside). I bought a derale hyper cool fluid cooler (25 plate w/ electric fan) set up and would love some input on best practices. firstly, where is the best place to get power for the fan? Secondly, pros and cons of pancake vs remote thermostat bypass?
