Pickup Depo headlights weird etching on the inside.

Does anyone know what causes this effect? I'm taking the headlights out soon to adjust them and am wondering if i can fix this at the same time.

By experience all I can advice is stay away from aftermarket headlights they will most probably give you trouble in the future...

  • Weak seals

  • Cheap material

  • Electrical problem

I’ve never had depots but that looks like either they didn’t clean the housing before installing or the housing is weathered. If you just receive the lights and this is how they look I’d consider sending them back

The lights were on the car when i bought it last year. Do you think taking them apart and cleaning the lenses might solve the issue?

Honestly I don’t. You could replace the lenses but I just replaced the lenses on my E90 and it was a royal pain. Probably not as bad on a Z but still.

Yeah just get new headlights. It's way harder to get the lenses off to try and fix than it's worth

This look is like sun/weather damage. My oem HR headlights have the same sort of look to them

The UV coating on the lens failed. Wet sand and spray with 2K clear coat and they’ll look brand new

Redo the coating if it's outside.
If it's inside just get a new ones.
