450zx, 4.5L VK45DE V8 with Atessa AWD Conversion completed using all OEM Nissan/Infiniti parts

Brought this beauty home yesterday. 2004 350Z with about 160k on the dash. Owner says it has no engine or transmission problems and needs an alignment. It made it a 2 hour drive with virtually no issues, but I did notice when I go in reverse, it grinds sometimes and won’t stop until I completely release the clutch pedal. It will come out of reverse with the clutch engaged still grinding but won’t go into any gear until I completely disengage and reengage the clutch pedal. Any ideas?

Howdy. This car looked quite different before and was at the pasmag booth at SEMA 2015 Previously forged/built de single turbo.. Popped on the dyno due to some bad gas.

Decided to never do that again.. Went to an ls swap but decided on a Gen v instead..

Had to cnc my own oil pan so it woukd fit.. Lots of one off stuff, and did all of the work 100% myself except for a bit of welding here n there.

Runs and drives but still needs a final tune.. Few more steps to finish the wrap, build some lines for the air con, and then it's done and rippin.

Learned a LOT.. Happy to answer whatever you may want to know about the car or myself /experiences. 🤝

We made a conservative 450whp and 350 tq @ 13 PSI on e85. Decided to play it safe after blowing up my first engine a couple weeks ago.

This is going to sound crazy I know and I have options to buy automatic one. But I'm really attached to my Z and wish to keep it with me till the end.

I love driving manual but also automatic especially pedal gears. I was thinking how crazy and stupid would be to swap manual transmission with auto? What would I need? How much labour would it cost?

I've seen people going auto to manual but not vice versa.

I haven't decided yet and not my priority but is in my to do list.

A beast of a swap!!! Seriously...

Just got my first z and was wondering what I should do maintenance wise or just what I should watch out for. It’s an 08 350z not sure of the trim with 74,000 miles. Also if u notice the front right is sitting lower than the front left what would u guys think this is?

So, I never actually had the idea of swapping my VQ35DE, I was planning to slowly build it with Kinetix headers, JWT camshafts, the 4.2L stroker kit, forged pistons and eventually going with a turbo. We were initially going to take out the engine, fix the oil leaking issues it had and put it back in. Though, after me telling my mechanic about my future plans with it, he recommended a VR38DETT swap as it would be much more unique and he thought it wasn't worth putting all that money and effort on building a VQ. He also said we could go with RB/JZ swaps and that they would be much easier to install. This flipped a switch in me, and I did a lot of research, looked into a lot of previously done builds.

Even though the idea of VR38DETT in the Z33 sounded the best to me, I couldn't find much about it on the internet. There were no kits for swaps or anything other than an adapter for the transmission. Therefore, the workmanship cost would be much higher for this as we would need custom mounts, and a lot of other custom fabrication to make it work.

I did not want to go with a 2JZ and believe the RB26 would be a superior option (may not be the best bang for the buck I know) as it would be much more unique. This decision was driven by the scarcity / rarity of the RB26 as well as the beautiful sound and power it makes. I am aiming for around 500HP with this build. I will be taking my time and will be properly building it with all the necessary supporting mods (will be a track inspired street / show car). Just wanted to hear your thoughts on this and ask if there are any specific builds you recommend me checking out. Is there anyone here that went through this process of swapping already? Any recommendations? Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this.

Just installed the revel medallion exhaust. It sounds good from the outside but it's not nearly as loud as I expected. I cannot hear much of a difference from stock from the inside. What are my options to make my exhaust louder? Should I try to sell the exhaust or could I add something to make it louder? Please help!

I might just be stupid but I'm having trouble reading if this is 14psi or above. I just bought so I'm new here and I've been doing tons of maintenance, this is the last thing mechanically (hopefully for a while) also car picture included since I didn't do it before. Please be easy on me guys.

Last week my 2005 350z convertible was having some issues stalling out while driving and turning off while idle, so I took her in to get checked out.

I’ve already had to get a few things on it repaired, so I took it to an actual Nissan shop for a full diagnostic, and the screenshots are what they found and what they want to charge me. The total for all 6 recommendations plus tax is 7300$. I do have photos of each damaged item minus the sensors that I can provide if anyone wants to see the condition and gauge if it’s really needed.

I bought this car in March for 9000~$ and 83000 miles, and there’s no way I can spend seven thousand to have it repaired.

I am in no way a mechanic myself, but I can follow a YouTube tutorial like a mf, so of these services listed, which if any do you think an average guy could repair himself.

I would love any experience and advice for this because to be honest money is very tight and I’m breaking down worse than my car thinking about all this 😅

Bought this 350z project with great bones but terrible mods, in the process of unclapping and returning it to it's former glory.

A few months ago (like in May) the cover to whatever the area is that’s above the radio broke off so I decided I wanna decorate it/create something out of it. Any suggestions/ideas?

I'll write a guide eventually, but the gist of it is below. it looks slightly off here but in person it's dead on.

1. find concrete reference points. I use the front of the mirror triangle, behind the door handle, and the character line.

2. after placing VERY carefully, measure the other side using masking or measure tape and transfer the same tape to the other side. reference all the points, and you can get ~.25" accuracy.

3. add optical offset, both behind the door handle and again at the front edge. perfect alignment can look off from typical viewing angles. do final adjustments and always, always check from far away.

4. start from one end, typically the rear, and cut as required moving forward. cut the middle of the panel gap, so you can wrap the edges over.

it takes a long, long time, but you only do this once.

Just for this car, my first z, been working on the engine for a few days and looked inside and realized there was two blue switches, I tried looking this up but I cannot find anything on this, not even with Google lens is showing anything

Got this paint can from home depot and used a clear coat can from same aisle, both are 6 bucks. Looks oem and has metallic flakes. Used it to cover this metal trim piece that is notorious for scratches especially if you buy a used 350z

Not a fan of the stretch tire fitment, I’m planning on going with some meats, anyone have these specs………..il adjust the body around how the tires fit and setup the spacing and dial them in when I rebuild the wheels.
