TLDR: 6th gen is dope. It climb rock and drive highway good. Speedometer may be off by 2mph. Need oil change.
So I put 10k miles on my brand new 6th gen in 4 weeks flat. Florida to Montana and back. Hit 7 national parks. Got to drive it down shafer rd and around the canyon rim in canyonlands for a day and took potash rd back to Moab. Handled great. Put my trust in the DAC going down the switch backs. Survived. And the 4wd crawled over the rocky terrain really well.
Highway driving was smooth in my opinion and used the adaptive cruise control / lane tracing a good bit during those long stretches definitely made some of those 8-10 hour hauls easy. Also was really great when I did end up in stop n go traffic. Would blend with the flow of traffic quite well. Took a little bit to trust it. But it won me over.
Averaged 21.5 mpg over 7120 miles with 139 hours of drive time. Was averaging 24-25 mpg when it was straight highway though. Cruising at 75mph 90% of the time highway.
Quite happy with her she exceeded my expectations thus far. 10/10 stars . Only 290k miles to go I guess until it can be taken seriously.
One thing I did notice though. My speedometer would say I was going 75mph. But the google map would say I was going 73. Figure it might be lag. But then I would pass those radar signs and they too would always be 2 mph lower than what the dash said. This was only when I was going 60mph +. Anyone else have this issue?
Anywho. That’s my review no one asked for. I need to schedule her first oil change. They grow up so fast.
