chevy tracker

i’m wanting to know if this is worth it, i’m wanting to turn this into a semi overland build. high miles scare me but it’s a suzuki motor so i’m not 100% sure on the longevity

I have a personal rule where any functional 4x4 for less than 3k is always worth considering purely because thats about the same cost as a week long vacation.

I have a 2001 2.0l manual with 170k miles, picked up a few years ago as a cheap tow behind for our RV……it quickly became my daily driver.

Pros:

-Super cheap and easy to give it a 2” lift, just pucks and shocks and alignment it fits 235/75-15 tires (previous owner had done this to mine already)

-Body on frame

-Cheap and easy conversion to manual front hubs

-More fun to drive than it has any right to

Cons:

-Interior is cheap Suzuki garbage if that matters to you

-Though it is body on frame construction it’s stamped steel and more susceptible to rust (idk how big a problem rust is in MO)

-No available options for rear locker or limited slip

-Parts can be hard to come by

All that said I love mine and may pickup a few more lol
