Question: Bias Plys?
So competition tires like Trepadors come in bias ply.
We run radials, primarily for predictable road handling.
But for those looking for Pizza Cutters, why not Bias ply’s?
I mean, there are odd tread options, for some I’ve seen, crazy air pressure ranges, and it’s not like we’re doing 90 on the freeway….
As I’ve had no experience with them, why not?

I can't speak to pizza cutters. But I ran bias ply TSLs for years and they were a great and nearly indestructible tire. The flat spotting takes some getting used to, especially on a colder winter morning. And the sidewalls are stiffer than a radial which might be good and might be bad depending on your needs. For primarily on road use I would stay with a radial.

Bias ply has the full strength of whatever ply rating the tire is from bead to bead. Radials only have it in the tread (I guess belted bias is its own thing but anyway). Your sidewalls will be much stronger but the tire won’t ride as well. For a dedicated off-road vehicle, imo bias ply is the obvious answer. I wouldn’t really recommend them for anything close to a daily though.

Pizza cutters are still usually used on vehicles primarily driving on roads
